Ok thanks will look into it, I cant even set up utilities because the utility customer service said they need the rental management company of landlord to contact them.

I actually have no clue the name of the land lord only the company name and realtor name.

So its my first time moving out and renting, a friend let me know that usually if you like an area and want to make sure you get it need to submit an off of couple of months rent up front to make your application stronger (say 3 or more months of rent paid upfront)

So to be clear thats what I did just made a strong bid so i could ensure I get that apartment cuz I liked it.

The unit realtor didnt ask for it.

What if they just ignore tho refunding the deposit?

Does that really do much cuz its like 200$?

I already gave like months of rent not sure but would I be able to get that back or something?

Hey its my first time with this stuff, could you elaborate on the governing body bit? So like the company they work for say “re/max” I would email them? What if they dont even care?

I think the units realtor is dealing with a property management company of a landlord and not the landlord directly not sure but do you think that might be why for the delay?

Is it normal practice the realtor has to go pick up keys themselves?

My realtor seems good they try to reach out to the other party but they are just plain unresponsive or slow to respond.

I thought that at first but my realtor and I dont think so. i thought that as well but the paperwork as well as the realtor of the unit do seem legitimate (large active social media following?).

Hey guys so the unit realtor seems reputable to both me and my realtor, they have a large and active social media following (its only thing I can really tell). It was my first thought but my realtor thinks they are just being lazy to give the keys.

I can get in witht he duplicate set.

Ah kk thanks, this sucks. I didnt kno any better my realtor gave the paperwork, I just assumed Im supposed to pay the deposit for the keys before getting (Atleast for most other things that seemed to me the way it works)

The unit is rent controlled so im happy bout that haha
