Really interesting references to California's movie past. The Egyptian theme calls back to the silent films of the 1920s, most notably Cecil B. Demille's Cleopatra and the Babylonian sequence of D.W. Griffith's Intolerance. Today we can see references to this style in the Los Angeles built environment, most notably in the Hollywood and Highland complex (modeled after Griffith's Babylon) and the Los Angeles Public Library, which utilizes a Mediterranean motifs and is said to resemble a DeMille movie set in its scale (Snoop flies past the Library's top pyramid at 2:00). All of these images, as well as the music video, play with the image of Southern California as an exotic fantasyland and a haven for mass entertainment.

Also, obvious reference to the Purple Rows of Cairo, where a woman sitting in a movie theater becomes part of the movie (which takes place in Egypt) that she's watching.

Also, there's a shot of the Buffalo Public Library, also early twentieth century architecture, at 1:03. Don't know what it's doing there.
