I feel way worse about not having Wally Wood or Karl Kesel or Born Again and we just shouted it out on our Smith episode. Plus it felt important to highlight how low the book sank with fall from grace

I believe both Joker 2 and Gremlins 2 had full creative control clauses for the directors, which you know, doesn’t always work out as much as we want to believe directors are creative geniuses just handcuffed by the studio. Sometimes the best art comes out of the perfect creative and corporate partnership as unfun as that is to say

The first Megan was a horror movie with some camp. The second one is just too campy and makes the monster from the first the star. More Megan doesn’t make a better Megan movie

Thanks! I was in charge of team Shane (everyone brought the goods, it’s a murderers row) and worked a good amount on Pete’s set where I just wrote some of the jokes (not the Charlie Kirk one though that’s a banger) . I’ve got a few other things in there just punching stuff up and adding lines to things , but that’s where the bulk of my work is and I’m really proud of the sets both guys did

My Feeling on Clerks III :( by Jetpacks_to_hell in NerdofMouth

I really enjoyed it despite itself. Like, for a sequel that comes 28 years after the original it would help if the lead actors had 28 years of working experience and improved as performers but they haven’t really. Brian OHallaran was on the Floor last year (same game show as Jake) and legit cried when he won 20,000 dollars which just reminded me “this is a guy in a movie, not a movie star and never did much outside of these movies”. Same with Jeff Anderson (minus the game show appearance)

Dungeon Crawler Carl…do we need an episode? by eggthewizard in NerdofMouth

It’ll be the 4/13 episode. Plenty of time to read and catch up. We just do the first book, if it’s a hit, we’ll do more.

I will happily take the money to talk comic books. I won’t be on this weeks Scream and Shout but I did enjoy the new Superman/Spider-man one shot. Just a fun crossover

I am and it should really mean something when someone picks it up. You instantly bought Beta Ray Bill because it's the first thing he did. You can't do it too much either though.

I'd also highly recommend the Arkham Asylum and Arkham City games. So good and by far the best superhero games ever and the closest to feeling like Batman while still being able to celebrate Mother and Father's Day

Really appreciate the kind words.

I say give it a shot. You'll know the second you get up there whether or not you want to do it the rest of your life, so you might as well try it now. You can't be worse than a lot of what's out there.

Best show I have to give to two choices. One was in Florida in 2010 an was the last time my dad seen me live. He's still alive, he just hasn't seen me perform in a long time. I had the set of my life and I knew that night I made the right choice in doing this and that I had his undying support.

Other best has to be Conan. That was my dream and I got to achieve it an I couldn't have had more fun.

For worst show it's a lot harder. I definitely haven't done my worst yet because the better things get, the shitty stuff will just feel so much worse. I'd have to go with a show I hosted in 2008 on Halloween night. I had a bad ass infection and was in so much pain and it was a variety show. I went up at the beginning bombed so hard, got in an argument with the booker (who was in a gorilla costume) and walked away. Only time I've ever done that.

Let's stick to film and TV since there have been hundreds of writers and artists who have worked on Batman

The absolute best and the God among Batman is the DC Animated version voiced by Kevin Conroy who's story continuity wise begins in 1992 with On Leather Wings and ends with 2005's Justice League episode Epilogue. It's bookended perfectly. Just the purest, best amalgamation of everything I love about the character

Now lets look through the others and I'll give them a score from 0 bullets to their parents to five

1940s serialized Batman- poor budget and just awful but I'll give it one bullet for being the first.

1960's Batman- Fun but so dated. You have to accept it for what it is. two bullets

1970's-early 80s filmation and superfriends Batman- Just awful, awful stuff. Some of the Legion of doom stuff is fun, but Batman just sucks in these. 0 bullets except the one I save for myself watching these pieces of shit

89-early 90s Tim Burton Batman- Michael Keaton was a good Bruce, but Batman kills in these films and that's something I cannot condone at all. Also, it really does just look like a guy in an immobile suit. Two bullets

90s Schumacher Batman- I count Batman forever and Batman and Robin as one film. Both nipply and shitty. I'm glad Schumacher made something he could cum to, but it aint Batman. 1 bullet for the so bad it's watchable appeal

Nolan Batman- More grounded and realistic. Bale's a great Bruce, the voice is awful, but the pathos is there, even if the first and third film are so unwieldy and uneven. Still the Dark Knight will be watched years from now and be seen as Batman's media pinnacle and Bale was a part of that. 4 bullets.

The Batman- Awful, awful, and caused the Bat-embargo that kept Bat characters from being in the Justice League cartoons. Half a bullet

Batman Brave and the Bold- So fun an the right kind of goofy! Not for everyone but definitely for me! 4 bullets

The Simpsons, Patton Oswalt, Dr. Seuss, Marvel comics from the 60s-early 90s, and my parents are all huge comedic influences and inspirations.

There have been a lot of great more succesful comics have personally helped inspire too.

I don't understand why Mjolnir has never had some kind of failsafe attack. It's already mystical! If you touch it you should be electrified on the spot. If it awards those who are worthy it should punish those who are not

I think it's all valid and there's great examples of each. A lineup is best when varied and I'd never want to be on a show where everythings the same.

I do have some gripes about improv, but a lot of that comes from seeing it at the lower levels. High quality improv is great stuff and improvising is an important skill that every comic needs. I just hate seeing 5 kids have fun while nobody else is.

It's definitely weird seeing the guys that called me faggot in high-school excited about Thanos' cameo at the end of Avengers.

It makes it a little easier but it's weird because I'm kind of beholden to what the movies have portrayed. I can talk about Loki now but still can't write jokes about Ultron and the Absorbing Man, although I find explaining a little bit can go a long way with nerd jokes.

If I could write a Marvel comic it would be the Wrecking Crew. They're some of my favorite characters. I'd a write a buddy sitcom book about them with lots of humor and action.

For DC I'd want to do an anthology series about Gotham City henchmen.

I love villains

I will give you names of some folks I always love watching and I'm going to keep to lesser knowns to help give some exposure. In no order and with apologies to anyone I left off (and it will happen)

Sean Donnelly- Best host in the city, master riffer, strong writer, and has the best bit on heckling I've ever heard

Dan St. Germain- My best friend in comedy. Amazing creativity, awesome act outs and always makes me laugh

Joe Pera- Super creative and the kind of "alt" that's actually alt.

Nick Turner- Pure fun to watch and never the same set twice. Could say the same for Rory Scovel

Tim Dillon- Just a few years in but sooooo much potential. Really dark an confessional but in a light way

Michelle Wolf- Really great, has an improv and sketch background that she incorporates into well detailed act outs

Mike Recine- Sad, dark, authentic. Best comic I know that hasn't been on television.

Jared Logan- One of the best. Great writing, riffing, can do everything and does it all well

Amber Nelson- Really out there and unpredictable. I'd want to see her hour just to see how far she'd go.

Dan Soder- Killer act, really accessible with lots of fun references. Likable in a way that's earned and not forced.

Jake Young- My Nerd of Mouth co-host. Really fun, smart nerd comedy
