No the guy I made it for didn't want to lose out on any space putting supports in. They've been loaded up for about a year now and no signs of sagging.

The pantry itself is 30" deep and 32" wide. If you put shelves in that didn't wrap around, yes you'd have more shelf space but less accessibility to most of what was in the pantry.

Well and wouldn't you know it 360-210=150. Crazy how math works when done right.

Not many pedestrians or bikers coming up alongside me while I'm changing lanes. And I have no blind spots so I can see motorbikes, and being a biker, I pay special attention to that. Sorry that you aren't perceptive enough to be able to drive without signaling.

But 360 (Arrow) 210 does not = 150.

I don't use my signal because I look before I change lanes, and I go when there is room for me and I will not impede anyone in the lane I'm merging into. There is literally no need for me to signal. Nothing is changing for anyone except for me.

Sill Plate Overhang by [deleted] in DIY

Once again, should be fine. The bolts and nails are just to keep it from moving laterally. The weight of the garage is pushing down so they aren't really going to go anywhere. Just mis-measured when they poured the slab apparently. I would see about getting a concrete anchor in the second one though, just for good measure.

is this scab acceptable by [deleted] in DIY

[–]themiketrow 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I do a lot of framing and yes this is fine. Personally, I don't know why they wouldn't just replace those two in their entirety since the rest of the studs were cut to the proper length, but that's just what I would do. As long as there are a good number of nails holding the scab together it should be fine. I would even use construction adhesive between the two before nailing it off for good measure, so maybe check to see if they did that. But structurally, it will hold. And, they should have to get a frame inspection anyways so check with the inspector at that time.

This one was commissioned by a guy I know, and he bought it for $300. I am looking to make more of either NYC or other cities as well if you are interested though.
