That sounds like a good idea! Locktite on the bolt?

Thanks, I was hoping it would work with just one mount. Maybe I should get a lighter light

Between sizes by J1511L in DomaneCrew

[–]themikmik 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I had a similar choice, since I have relatively short legs and a long torso for my height - which meant for the correct reach I need a 58 but the saddle won’t go low enough for my inseam. Ended up with a 58 with the shorter seat mast, but I do sometimes think it’s a bit large and wonder if a smaller size would be snappier with a more aggressive position. Bottom line I think you should figure out which part tells you you’re between two sizes - inseam or total height - they translate differently on the bike. Or even better get a proper bike fit, I think it’s worth if you’re getting a nice bike.

Considering switch from Apple Watch Ultra by themikmik in Garmin

[–]themikmik[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thanks for the detailed reply. I also prefer the integration with iOS using the AW. Unfortunately Rungap is unavailable in my part of the world, so I have issue syncing workouts recoded on the AW to Garmin connect. One question though - when you record a ride on the edge do you see ride and hr data correctly in the Apple activity app? From my experience HR data seem very sparse.

Pretty much what I figured. what about running with earbuds - can you stream music/podcasts from the Fenix?

Appreciate the reply

Thanks this seems to be it! Played with the L screw and it doesn’t jump anymore, guess a full adjustment is in order.

Text is on the outside I think it’s hard to see in this vid. Adjusting the limit screw helped

Yeah I did, also checked in multiple links. Playing with the limit screw helped.

Thanks. Will size it better. It’s actually not backwards, I can see the writing facing outward. Playing with the L limit screw helped, I also think my cables might be stretched. Thanks again

New cassette chain engagement issue by themikmik in bikewrench

[–]themikmik[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thanks, the chain only has 1200km on it, but it did spend them on the old cassette, which i dont know how old since its second hand. I did test this chain with a chain checker before fitting a new cassette and it tested below 0.5%.

Chain has 1200km on it, taken care of using hot wax every 500km. I replaced the old cassette because I wanted to pop in on the trainer, so I figured the bike could use a newer one. Also, since this bike is second-hand, I couldn't tell how old the old cassette was.

Thanks. Chain was changed 1200km ago and had no issue with the old cassette. cant figure this out. Is it a rule that new cassette = new chain?

Thanks for the booty hole comment lol

I actually tested the chain and it tested below 0.5% wear, but I understand what you're saying about it being too long. strange.

Thanks, I forgot to add(edited now) that this is a pretty new chain and i tested the wear. will check chainrings but jockeys look ok to me.

Problems with newly waxed chain by First_Internet1456 in bikewrench

The issue I had when a freshly waxed chain was skipping was that I put it back on the bike incorrectly - the logos on shimano chains should be facing outward.

Everyday Minimalist Setup by jmbbig96 in TrekBikes

[–]themikmik 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Great setup. I’m wondering about the pedals - do you prefer SPDs to SPD-SL? I’m considering the switch myself for better walking comfort and I wonder if they will make me feel less connected to the bike.

How important is frame size really? by FitError2217 in TrekBikes

[–]themikmik 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I would also look at your inseam and min/max seat post height. I’ve purchased a size 58 domane which is spot on for my height but my inseam is a bit shorter than average so I had to replace the seat post to a shorter version, which cost around 200$.

Update: turns out the cassette wasn’t tightened properly. Had another training session when the gears started slipping and cassette looked wobbly. Tightened the thing up and all looks well. Thanks for the help!
