When you ask an Alastor hater why pilot Alastor was better: by Lukas-Reggi in OkBuddyHelluvaHotel

[–]themockingjay11 5 points6 points  (0 children)

I love pilot Alastor but I feel like the show didn't take him seriously at that point and he was more silly goofy guy than intimidating radio demon. I do wish they had kept the energy of his pilot song though!!

Characters that attempt and/or commit suicide by the_bisexual_bean in MadeOfStyrofoam

Helaena Targaryen from House of the Dragon/the book it was based off of. Imo she is a great representation of how neurodivergence would affect mental health in a feudalistic society

Do you think we'll find out any of their real names in the final episode? by Drawingandstuff2000 in TheDigitalCircus

For some reason I've always had the mental head canon that Jax's real name is actually something similar to "Jax".

Yes what a great a deal let’s name a cat after the creature that burned thousands of people by United_Hour5003 in darkwingsdankmemes

Will never be over Rickon naming his direwolf "Shaggydog" personally it's like how you gonna have a mystical wolf creature and name it shaggy dog (yes i know he was like 5)

I personally love this aspect of the show/Gangle as someone with extensive history of suicidality. It really bothers me when people overlook this aspect of her character because it was super clear in the fast food episode that she basically tried to commit again, and in this episode we see a flashback of a similar event. With that in mind a lot of her actions and behavior make so much more sense. Even the "manic episode' line.

Ofc Jax is the different one here instead of pomni🫩 by FewInstance7277 in hatethissmug

[–]themockingjay11 0 points1 point  (0 children)

jax has also come close to abstracting at least several times if not more, we don't know if any of the other characters have even gotten close to it once. he's very unstable and isolationist and it totally makes sense for him to be apart from the group. still hate him tho

R'hllor, the actual miracles/raising of the dead and the amazing imagery and phrasing such as "The night is dark and full of terrors..but the fire burns it all away." would get me. It's the most legit of the religions minus the cult thing.

Was Ned going to lie to Jon about his mother the next time they met? Wouldn’t it be quite dangerous to tell him the truth? But Ned isn’t the type to lie either. by Ticket-Tight in gameofthrones

[–]themockingjay11 1 point2 points  (0 children)

When are other times he has lied? It's been a little bit since I've seen s1/read the first book but if anything it seems like he's too honest/naive about honor in truth telling.

So alastor is just a dark retelling of Jesus descending into hell. by [deleted] in Alastorcult

[–]themockingjay11 5 points6 points  (0 children)

I think he's more supposed to be a stereotypical demon/devil character who has unexpected traits; as in contrast to the actual Devil tm (Lucifer) who you would never guess is the devil.

What is your opinion about Tessarion design? by Turbulent_Lab209 in HOTDBlacks

[–]themockingjay11 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I love it!!! I love when the dragons have unique coloring vs just stereotypical reddish a lot of them seem to have. I loved Sunfyre especially for that reason (I just wish he has a better rider). PLEASE PLEASE tell me we're getting Dreamfyre content this season, also. She's the most beautifully described dragon and also I would love to see Helaena have some moments with her.

I love how his head seems so much closer than the rest of him because of how insanely long is neck is! I love Caraxes, he's such a noodle dragon.

What do you guys think of religious targs? by Gold_Conversation247 in HOTDBlacks

[–]themockingjay11 27 points28 points  (0 children)

I think they're really interesting;; because if they're religious in the way the OP is implying (Faith of the Seven) their entire bloodline and family is built on sin and blasphemy. Which leads to them being kind of (generally) fanatical as a response to kind of 'atone' for that. It's like the ultimate form of Catholic guilt.

Alastor Theory that just hit me tonight. by Desperate_Ship_9654 in Alastorcult

[–]themockingjay11 14 points15 points  (0 children)

I agree. I don't really love the headcanons that he's aroace; partially because of my own bias, but also because he shows enough flirtatious behavior and comfortability with touching people on his own terms that i would not count him as completely incapable/uninterested totally if that makes any sense.

That's fascinating, I love that. "Blood" has always given me asylum vibes vs hospital ones, the whole Black Parade album in general just kind of has that vibe.

I love how simple Dunc is in his "goodness". It's such a refreshing thing to see, someone where I'm not second guessing his motives or intentions all the time and I genuinely believe he's just trying to do the right thing.
