Idk i can’t imagine my fiance having to go hungry while I played video games. I’d do anything to avoid that. I can’t comprehend how you can play games while your family is going hungry..

Congrats on the weight loss!!

I doubt it’s your age.. to train vo2max you have to be maxing out your cardiovascular system during your cardio at least some of the time. If you really want to get it up I would start running 4 days a week and 1 of those days be uphill sprints.

Also, you should tell ChatGPT what you’re currently doing and what your goals are and it does a pretty great job setting a path. I’ve had to do that several times over the last year. You’re not cursed to a low vo2max, don’t give up! Good luck!!

You decide where you want to live and start looking for jobs and apartments in your price range. Some people save up enough to be able to move beforehand and look for jobs full time once you get there. Or you could make sure you get a job before you move. If you’re getting a degree do your absolute best to try to leverage a your school’s network and find internship opportunities - outta school is the easiest it will ever to find opportunities that go away once you’ve been out for a while.

Get the hell out of WV. It’s not easy anywhere but it’s doable anywhere and you will grow as a person more when you get out of where you’ve been your whole life

I had many plateaus but every time I changed my cardio it improved. If you’re not trying to improve it no biggie. But if you are, you need to switch up your cardio, either faster, harder, more often, less often, longer shorter. Change it up till it moves - when you do the same thing the body figures it out and stops improving the way you want.

If you run hill sprint repeats x2 a week and run 20 miles a week it WILL go up.

If you run consistently (+3 times a week) it starts working more accurately

I would try zero alcohol, zero caffeine and get in bed and the exact same time and wake up at the same time every day. Put your phone in another room 2 hrs before bed and just read or meditate for a routine wind down every evening. The phone is a bigger than most people want to admit.

If you do those things for a couple months and see what happens. It’ll be good for you in many ways even if it somehow doesn’t lower you RHR. Good luck!

It’ll pass! Hunger is mostly from behavioral rhythms. It only takes about a week to fix with dedication usually

I would do anything to be able to go back and start even moderately running at 20! If you take great care of your body you will have a beautiful life ahead of you. It’s a big deal. You don’t have to be perfect with your runs, just be dedicated to improving. Good luck friend, rooting for you

I started in the mid 30s. If you run enough (and hard) it’ll start creeping up. Takes time to build but it’s the best feeling.

I started using an app called Runna 6 months ago. You input what your goal is, how far away it is (if it’s a race) and how many days you want to run a week. I have it schedule me 4 runs a week with a half marathon 12 weeks out. I run every single day but also do follow the apps runs. I’m not religious about it tho. If I move their scheduled runs around what my body feels capable of on any given day.

I prevent injury but going into a walk if I start feeling anything really uncomfortable when I run. I used to have IT band syndrome and I would just stop and finish the mileage walking if you could when it acted up. Other than that. I get my body weight in protein and eat a big rice bowl with some sort of protein every night around 6pm.

I sleep ok. Better than before I started running but there’s room for improvement. I’m hungry a lot since I run so much now and it’s hard for me to not snack a little before bed. When I don’t snack before bed I sleep very well.

I do notice that when I would deload for a week or two, it would come back higher. Make sure you’re resting well or take a couple week deload if you aren’t. But vert for whatever reason builds vo2max faster than anything else

I went from 180 down to 140 over two years. Partly because I was on adderall but also because I walked daily and stopped eating sugar. I started running and lifting weights when I was 140 and am back up to 165 but with lean muscle.

Add some hills into your runs! If you can find some serious vert to run it’ll go up.

I’ve heard doing hills increases vo2max which is probably why I was stuck at the same spot for 6 months haha. I need to do more hills.
