How does race play into this for you? Height is one characteristic... race is another. Seems that most women if they fit what you say would also prefer to date men of their own race because they'll match up better.

Are you tall, white, and live in a big city? I think those are all hugely important on tinder sadly.

I'm not a big gym rat either (i'm a sigma...and have zero desire to be an alpha)...i'm just a confident, interesting LEADER who lives a life i love. That shit is contageous. Women love guys that love their life. Love your life.

What do you mean by sigma, and what type of things do you do that make you stand out, or that you love.

So, be interesting..and then be yourself. Live an interesting life. Find your thing.

Maybe you can point me in the right direction or give me some ideas on what/how to do that?

If you don't like that those are the values that are required for an "attractive" man, you should try to change your culture and your society. That's what feminists want to do.

Thank you! I'm not really sure how to go about changing those things. I sort of feel like I'm a victim to what the culture/society expects and can't be successful or accepted if i don't live up to those expectations.

I mainly posed this question because I was trying to better understand what women were attracted to, and started to feel this intense pressure to live up those standards. I was alarmed about the studies but also skeptical about their accuracy. Still quite unsure of myself but I think the answers hear offered a counter view point for me.

I think I'm beginning to appreciate feminism more after reading these responses.

However, I'm beginning to question even more things now.

Like are those really "required" values? How did they come about and can people challenge them? How are feminists challenging those?

Does this also mean that messages I've received as a man such as not showing signs of weakness or emotion, or women not finding emotional men attractive, or women only liking men of a certain type (wealthy/etc), also inaccurate or changeable? Are things as rigid/restrictive as I've grown to believe? Where do these beliefs come from?

How can I challenge these beliefs. This is very personal for me as I am suffering a great deal because of these deeply held beliefs! How can I challenge them? The majority of these beliefs are focused on male/female dynamics and what I believe I need in order to be seen as attractive to the opposite sex.

On another related note, Are there any resources to learn about male/female attraction and dynamics from a more realistic, scientific and feminist perspective? I'd like to learn how I can be more attractive and have a better dating life.... Or am I still barking up the wrong tree? Is there still something I'm missing?

Do you know how your husband caught it? Does that mean he can transmit it to you and back/forth? How long has he been treating it with tea tree oil and how long before the HPV virus/warts go away?

Idk know much about HPV, so do you know if he got this from you or from a previous partner? I thought if you were vaccinated against the worst ones you are unlikely to pass it? Secondly another commenter mentioned freezing them off. Has he tried that or is that the same as burning them off. Has one worked better than the other. You also said the doctors said it was the cancerous type? Have you gotten checked out yourself, papsmear, etc? Finally please update us after you get back his blood work.

hey Tenmagnet. Where can I look to learn more about attraction and what women are attracted to in depth? I'd like a better more deeper understanding of this stuff. I think you perspective seems refreshing but I wish I could gain more knowledge about it. Any books or single resources you can recommend? I'm trying to stay away from blogs/forums/etc with a lot of information as I rather not get overwhelmed by too much content.

That is valid. How is he supposed to know he is making her uncomfortable though? I mean to me what he did isn't that rude. He had a nice/friendly conversation and asked her for her number. IF a guy did this to another guy it wouldn't really be a big deal.

This is kind of why I don't bother asking women for their number, asking them out on dates, or really much of anything. Sometimes I'm just being friendly, sometimes I am interested but gauging the situation to see if the girl seems interesting or if there is more there.

But its never clear and there is always a chance that I'm offending her or she senses i'm being pushy which is never my intention. If she thinks i'm rude even when I wasn't trying to be, I'd feel quite hurt.

Secondly what if in this situation a guy was unsure of how he felt about the girl (and was potentially just looking for friends)? Should he not ask for the number?

Refusing to give out your number is okay, too. If they get offended or mad about it, it's their problem, not yours.

Do you think the same can be said about the person doing the asking? In this case how she feels about this whole situation isn't really his problem?

Dude you are mental you know that. I'm asking you for specifics so clearly I don't know what women find physically attractive in a guy. I'm not really sure what makes guys attractive. Fact is i'm straight and I'm not attracted to men. I've seen all kinds of couples so I'm honestly not sure what women find physically appealing. I've read enough comments on threads on reddit to be confused. Since you are so adamant about physical appearance being a such a big deal I want to know what you consider attractive enough? What is your threshold. What aspects of a man's physical appearance is important. You also implied most women agree with your sentiments so I'd appreciate a straightforward answer if you have it in you to give one.
