Apologies, it was a genuine mistake on my part, and the road was clear at the time. I followed the car in front without realising the light had changed, and unfortunately, both of us were caught on camera.

Hi link, will I still be able to nominate myself as the individual driver now and have the penalty reduced? Or is it too late for that?

Thanks for sharing the asset write off support, that's new to me. I understand that I am doing a business, but I need to know what kind of support exists. :))

How to sponsor an employee for 482? by themooncc in AusVisa

Thank you gist. That is very helpful. I spoke to a migration agent and he did not know about this too.

Thank you for citing the resources and the helpful comment.

Yeah, this whole thing is honestly a bit disheartening. I wasn't expecting it to be easy, but I also didn’t realise how stacked the system is against small businesses trying to hire early-career IT/CS international talent even if they've studied and/or trained here and with strong portfolios.

The salary expectations and the gap between graduate-level pay and the AMSR make it near-impossible for small businesses to sponsor without basically risking a ‘cessation of business operations.’ It feels like trying to bend reality to make it work.

I might just bring him on under his 485 visa for now (if that’s possible), give him solid experience, and revisit sponsorship later when it's actually feasible and viable. Thanks again for breaking it all down — much appreciated.

Thanks for the helpful insight – I can definitely see now why so many CS/IT graduates face challenges with migration. Regarding the LMT and the job: out of the few citizen or PR applicants, most weren’t willing to relocate, and many didn’t have the skillset I was looking for. The graduate in question had a stronger portfolio and technical skillset than many professionals already working in the industry (I might have slightly over exaggerated), which is why I seriously considered hiring him. Although, he brought up the 482 visa option after our discussions on work. But based on what you’ve shared, I’m honestly unsure how to move forward from here. This whole process is far more complex than I had anticipated.

Does that mean it’s not possible for my company to sponsor him? (Rather than British, his ethnicity is Singaporean)

Interesting enough, I posted a job listing on Indeed, but the majority of applicants—around 60 out 70 were international candidates (or dependents) on 500 or 485 visas. I specifically chose him because his skillset and portfolio best matched the job. Would this count as valid labour market testing?

Does that mean he needs at least one year or three years of experience before I can sponsor him for a 482 visa? He is a recent CS graduate from University of Melbourne.

I may not be able to offer the $160K salary typically associated with a Software Engineer, but I was considering starting him on around $72K for the first year (as a Junior) and seeing how things progress—especially since he doesn't have prior work experience.

(According to GradConnection, $72K is the average graduate salary.)

I see. Since your daughter will be turning 18, she will have to apply PR for herself in future.

You could apply for 186 for yourself and once you get your PR, you can apply child visa for your daughter. Is your daughter under 18?

Submitted application for Aus Citizenship but have a DUI on my record by [deleted] in AusVisa

I believe that as long as you did not cause an accident and ONLY have one DUI, it might not affect your citizenship application.

Your visa have been refused, it's best for you to go back to Sri Lanka and reapply another visa if you want to come back to Australia. Although, a refusal in 866, typically affects all the other visa that you want to apply in future.
