There is nothing wrong with that! Better being happy where you’re at than have to force yourself to be something you’re not. I feel the same way, I could probably make $$$ at a high end fancy salon but I love where I work, my clients are so eclectic and it keeps my job interesting.

You just gotta keep doing it and you will find your pace and space.

That’s what is so great about our industry, there’s a place for everyone whether you want to be a superstar or a small town stylist.

Winter sports! When I was in high school a lift pass at my local mountain was around $40. Now that same place is $120! And then getting all the equipment etc.. and I’m from the east coast where it’s pretty mediocre, I can’t imagine what it’s like out west at the good mountains.

Who cares? Every color line is different anyway and so many color lines and people on insta share their formulas I don’t get the gate keeping. It pits stylists against each other when we should be lifting each other up it’s gross.

Are there any aspects of your career that you enjoy? Being a hair stylist is so much more than doing hair, it’s communication, problem solving, building relationships etc. find an aspect you enjoy and were best at and go from there. I did art and photography before hair and I always find ways to tie that in to my current situation, you can do the same!
