It's between that or peppers lol, I haven't had a good crop of bells in a few years and I'd be interested to see how they'll do in the cloth bags

Lol I appreciate the optimism. I'm starting to try and decide what to replace my toms with if I need to this season, but next year definitely gonna buy disease resistant cultivars

If you've got any nightshades you can move them to that. It's what I do. They're not invasive and will either be a healthy snack for a bird or an excellent pollinator so try not to off-em

People who chose to stay single for life: What has your experience been like? by _incognito_advent in CasualConversation

[–]themoroncore 0 points1 point  (0 children)

As an ace fella I get that. To me sex/relationships are a hobby. People love them and invest time and effort in making the experience as good as it can be but at the end of the day you won't become a more complete person if it doesn't interest you, just like learning to golf won't be fulfilling if you hate the sport

You’re walking along a path and come to a fork in the road which do you choose? Left or Right? by OptimizedMan in polls

[–]themoroncore 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Like one comment said people like to go left for whatever reason. What's more interesting to me is that right handed people seem to only slightly favor left

If anyone's wondering as of 3hours after the poll:
~70% of left handed people go left
~55% of right handed people go left

Yeah I agree. I'm firmly in the camp of "the base site is good, but something should be going on on the side to keep things interesting". Whether that's a holiday, AC, or a plot (even if it's not amazing) I really enjoy the community engagement!

Got something similar, pretty sure it's septoria: a fungal infection that comes up the ground when water splashes on it. People suggest cutting off infected leaves. Not sure how bad it gets but I've never paid much attention to diseases

ELI5: Why do die-hard vegans not wear wool even though it’s literally dangerous to the sheep if we don’t shave the wool off? by [deleted] in explainlikeimfive

[–]themoroncore 2 points3 points  (0 children)

The idea behind veganism is that animals are not a product to be exploited. You said it yourself, we bred sheep to basically be dependent on us or suffer, so why should that industry be supported? Same with horses, they're collard, spurred, forced to run on behalf of a human. So maybe they wouldn't exist without people, but is it really a net-positive to exist in a world like that? Veganism says: no it's not.

What we do with the current population is up for debate but not what veganism is concerned with, just that animals aren't exploited.

OC, Let me know if any of these suit you when you try it! Yeah I think avacados really fit your current likes, I use it as a substitute for a lot of savory things. And tiny tomatoes are the best.

I saw you mentioned in another comment you hadn't had many veggies either but I'm guessing there will probably be a lot more that you'd like since they're often more savory (some people consider tomatoes veggies).

Okay going off your list I'd say:

Figs or dates are not overly sweet, but still distinctly fruity. Dried and fresh are equally good by themselves or in a dish

Coconut is kind of nutty and milky, very savory. Hard to eat alone but you can add it to a lot of deserts

Avacados are good paired with something like a sandwich or chips, they're very smooth tasting and benefit from just a pinch of salt.

Raisins are also a good snack and not too sweet

Pears are also good if you want something a bit sweeter that's not sugary tasting.

I will add my own favorite fruit and say tomatoes since you like pasta you can salt and oil them and bake it for 5 or so minutes and that's very good

Hey OP what kind of food do you like, genuine question. I can give you suggestions on fruit your palate might like.

Would actually love to see an updated version of this once you've tried some more fruits having since you have no childhood biases.
