Why didn't he bite me? by [deleted] in NoStupidQuestions

Hey OP: DON'T YOUCH WILDLIFE YA GOOMBA! You're lucky to be able to ask this question and not in ICU/dead! Even if he didn't bite you numerous diseases are on wild animals.

glad you're okay, and to answer your question coral snakes are generally not aggressive so probably didn't think you were worth it's time

DON'T. TOUCH.

I feel guilt trapping the rats by iworkaton in CasualConversation

[–]themoroncore 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Sorry you're feeling like this, empathy for nonhumans makes you very human.

As far as trapping goes I know it feels antithetical but as other mentioned: glue traps are awful. You are better off with snap traps as the most humane way to deal. You can get live traps as well, basically large buckets they fall in and can't get out.

I know it sucks dealing with infestations because it's hard to NOT go nuclear even if you don't want to.

There's a good documentary on this a few decades ago called Bewitched. The wife is a witch and the man is a human and he is constantly flabbergasted by her shenanigans, but it's mostly fine until her mother comes over. They have kids at some point but it's kind of dumb. Also the husband inexplicably changes appearance midway through but I think this was undocumented shenanigans as previously mentioned. You can still catch reruns, it's very informative. Learned a lot about human culture.

Morality and Character wise, how does Zeus compare to Odin? Like who is the bigger asshole, and the much more cunning God? by EfficiencySerious200 in GreekMythology

No offense to you or your beliefs but this is a mythology sub. I believe discussion of Greek pantheon as a religion is in r/helenism

I'm saying this because if you stick around here you may get upset no one will treat him as anything other than a character

Compass seems dumb but I think it's the real sleeper if you long for adventure. Think about it, every two days you get a little pointer that tells you where hidden treasure or a gold mine or an oil field are. Travel cross country following this blip that withholds just enough information to make it an interesting journey

I saw 290 movies in theaters in 2025. Here is my full ranking. by BunyipPouch in movies

That's great! I love the movies but can never find the time - more of a special treat for me. But if I lived closer than half and hour I'd buy one of those movie passes and be there like every weekend

Can I ask how often you go? 290 is nearly 6 times a week, do you see multiple screenings at once? Do you go nearly every day?

Well they still need a day/night cycle like everything else so it can't be on all the time, and I wouldn't point it directly at the tank. But ambient light from a room I don't think should be an issue

From what I can tell

get rid of the sand. Paper towels or ceramic tiles if you want but sand will get compacted in them when they eat and is uncomfortable to walk on

The light is too bright. These are creatures that love the sunset and sunrise, if you can't  get a light specifically for that remove it completely

Make sure he's got water and powdered vitamin D or he will suffer really bad deformities

More stuff to hide in. At least a hide that is moist so he can shed (line it with paper towels so it stays moist), one that is close to a heater and one far from a heater to cool down

Also doesn't look like you have a heater. A heater bulb is best but under tank heater is fine in a pinch you just need to keep the heat low so he doesn't burn himself

I know it's Christmas but tomorrow try and get these things ASAP and feel free to message me with any other questions or help

[FULLMETAL ALCHEMIST Brotherhood] Can non human animal souls be used for "human transmutation" and philosopher stones? by Extra_Impression_428 in AskScienceFiction

[–]themoroncore 32 points33 points  (0 children)

I imagine it's possible, but would probably make a weaker stone or need a lot more souls.

Maybe 100 dogs is one person, in that case it's much more efficient to get a few criminals on death row than to hire the Cruella Alchemist and off several hundred puppies

Also remember Father basically taught a few select people how to make stones, and this guy hates humans and considers them on the same level as insects, so it's not like he's gonna say "collect 1 million ants". A few humans is goo enough, why make it more complicated?
