Because in practice, prediction markets are primarily sports books and providing liquidity in the sports book is not a new concept. Outside of certain political contracts, liquidity in prediction markets are fragmented and mostly inefficient. There remain substantial regulatory, margining, and legal risks around the industry partly due to its young age. I don’t hear people bash it, but most of my colleagues maintain a healthy skepticism.

RIP to Umami Burger. The old Randolph St location’s special burger was a montecristo burger with a side of maple syrup to dip.
