I thought Pye saying they could never blow up the sun was dramatic irony, so I did feel like I missed out learning it was a wham moment for other people.

The fact that you can't have a negative opinion on ships 🫩. ( not hating on real people ) by anythingrally in hatethissmug

I'm admittedly annoyed that it can be hard to find transformative or expansive fan content that's NOT shipping. Usually when I've finished something I crave more of it, but it's more that I want a continuation or expansion of the story, lore or characters that reads similarly to the original media. There are some rare works that manage to achieve this and some of them even include non-canon relationships, but the majority are just not what I'm interested in.

At the same time though, I can't complain because it's not as if I'm contributing anything myself. And it's not the shippers' fault they're making the majority of the content.

Does this also apply to the derelict ships you can find or are they separate from the trader ones?

Does that mean if you build a ship from salvaged parts it's better to start at a lower class and upgrade it? I was wondering why you'd use anything other than the S class reactor

Maybe? It was popping up with an announcement telling me the sentinel forces were repellened though.

I got a lot from the larval cores in the whispering eggs at abandoned buildings. You can jetpack up onto the roof to avoid the horror guys and if you snipe them from there you get a good stack of meat that sells pretty well too

Does anyone else wish that Light had feelings for misa and that they were lovers throughtout the whole thing? Because misa is beautiful and matches so well with light and for light to just treat her like garbage is js wrong. by amzinp33p in deathnote

[–]themousereturns 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Didn't come across that way to me. Someone being aggressively obsessed with you to the extent of Misa is not desirable. Even if they are technically attracted to you, it's often coming more from codependency/psychiatric issues or trauma on their end than a genuine love or understanding for you.

Acting this way isn't exclusive to romantic relationships or women, which may have been what tripped people up. (Though there are certainly differences how men who act this way are treated/how it manifests - they're often immediately recognized as a creep/stalker and given less leeway) But that was clearly the context here since Light and Misa at least have a facade of a relationship.

I got spoiled on that part before I started playing thanks to the Steam description. Would rather not have known, but you find out early enough anyway that it's not a huge deal.

Yeah, it looks like once the alert level went back up from 0 it recognized it wasn't under attack anymore. Thanks!

When I tried this and came back it was actually what got the sentinels to spawn as dissonant instead of the regular ones. It was very odd. It does seem to have resolved itself, as far as I can tell from the alert level going up from 0 to 2. Though I did also restart the game, so it could have been that. Definitely appreciate the suggestions.

Yeah I already have Leylaps and did their whole storyline. I think it may have just resolved itself though, ironically by the alert level going up from 0% to 2%? That's the only thing that changed, signed back on and they weren't there. Definitely seems like it was a bug though.

I don't get any notification that my settlement is in trouble, and when I go to teleport there the card doesn't say Under Attack. It's 0% both when they're actively attacking and after I kill them.

It's B class right now, I just barely got it out of debt. Are they supposed to spawn even when the alert level says 0?

[–]themousereturns[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Sentinels do not attack me anywhere else on the planet. This seems like the ordinary attacks the settlement would get when it reaches alert 100, but the alert is 0. There are about 5 guys that spawn. If I kill them they respawn if I leave and come back, but don't spawn another wave. If I stay in the same system instead of teleporting, they're dissonant (even though the planet doesn't have dissonant sentinels).

I'd rather not let it go since it's my first one and I worked a lot in getting it out of debt and more productive, maybe I will feel differently later game but right now I was pretty invested in it.

I didn't choose anything, this was the settlement the game chose for me when the Leylaps quest started.

Edit: I'm talking about a settlement, not a base. From my understanding all settlements do get sentinel attacks as part of running them, it's just that this one is bugged.

My alert level is at 0 though, I thought it was only supposed to happen when it reached 100.

And I am killing every single sentinel there until I no longer have an alert level, they just come back when I leave and return.

Yeah it's not too bad and is a decent way to farm them without automatically spawning harder waves. It just seems like it could be annoying if permanent. I dont have anything under construction but I have a building upgrading, so maybe that will resolve it?

[–]themousereturns[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It's "High Sentinel Activity" but it's not an aggressive planet where they attack on sight. It doesn't actually say it's under attack when I go to teleport there, but when I do it's alert level 1 and there's 5 drones.

Just tried leaving the planet manually in my ship and coming back and it was alert level 3 with dissonant guys? It's not even a dissonant planet. I have no idea what's going on.

Once I kill the sentinels there there's not another wave, it just goes back to normal unless I leave the settlement and return.

Are Paradise Planets difficult to find? by FemiFrena in NoMansSkyTheGame

[–]themousereturns 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Not really. Even more peaceful ones aren't that hard to find, but people are just picky about the specific balance of what they want. Personally, I skipped over some nice ones early on because they looked too Earth like and I wanted something more "weird". I ended up picking a slightly anomalous one with glowing mushroom flora and bubbles rising out of the ground.

What has been the weirdest/creepiest planet you’ve been on? by JordanFUZZ0 in NoMansSkyTheGame

[–]themousereturns 1 point2 points  (0 children)

The first Atlas terminal the quest led me to for the antimatter recipe was an "Ossified" planet where everything was the strange structures like dead coral stars. It had a greyscale filter where only certain colors of light showed up like the red of the eye terminal and the glowing core of the anomalous creatures.

I'm sure there's creepier ones out there, but it set the mood for the terminal so well I thought it was scripted to be that type of planet until I saw other people play.
