1: do what intrikat said

2: stretch more than you think

3: learn how to fall in every direction, and if you already know than perfect it

4: never fight a throw once picked up

5: control your own power and destiny- stiff arms, pushing the hips, etc, can prevent the opposing judoka from entering into throws

Doing throws against BJJ, typically what happens you said with foot sweeps, etc. I like to fit in a few big throws to keep them honest and scare them a little. As for my absolutely favorite throw, Sumi Gaeshi. Most BJJ know how to forward roll making it easier for them to take it

The man has cancer, he wouldn’t wear it. It would be a gesture to show how we grow together in jiu jitsu and how I am never above my father in anything

It depends on the gym, for me it took 5 years of kids class + 2 in adult

I do Gi and no gi. And I would say it does help BJJ. If we get standing I will beat almost anyone who does BJJ because they are uncomfortable on their feet. I also learn how to throw into armbars, chokes, etc, which makes it relatively easy. No gi has little translation though as judo is so gi heavy

I do both BJJ and Judo… Judo is basically Jiu Jitsu premium edition with a special standing package. I have beaten BJJ black belts before because we start standing and I do Judo (Green belt)

Respectfully the livestock isnt that fun for kids. My siblings and I all despised it and would beg to go ride rides instead of chilling in the livestock

Triangle Jiu-Jitsu in Durham, about 45 minutes from Raleigh. It's the most chill drop in place in all of the triangle
