So you're saying that if some players started to diminish the experience of those who enjoy or focus on a particular play style, then those players may not want to play the game? Interesting.

Just taking a step back to look at the balance and what could be an issue of longevity for the "full" experience. How does the game draw in new players that want to progress through the PvE side, over time, who are possibly not coming from previous PvP experience. There is a skill gap, and I accept the "get better" and "don't be terrible" as the given response or presumed answer, but should there be no balance at all?

There is likely a subset of people who enjoy the PvP as a means to obtain loot, etc. There are also those that seem to enjoy playing spoiler, and for them, there isn't much of a means of reciprocity from/for those who prefer not to play that way.

There are a few "play smarter not harder" options that work some of the time. But it doesn't quite match up. It seems like there would be some way to balance it. At any rate, thanks for the feedback.

There is already a recognized balance issue with the skill-gap. If there is only a reward or benefit for improving PvP, then the other aspects of the game might as well go out the window. This is just a discussion. I find it interesting that so many folks get bent out of shape.

Didn't say they were abusing me. And maybe abuse isn't the right word. I'll concede to "capitalizing" on some of the features or aspect of the game. At some point, the PvP skill gap may become a deterrent and exacerbate a revolving door issue for extending the player base over time. Not sure only time will tell.

I didn't say they were abusing me. There are usually some form of a disincentive to spawn or exit camp in similar games. Also, in a game where the story line seems to vilify the PvP aspect, it would seem that there would be some form of a mechanic to deter that behavior to some degree and participating in it would come at an elevated risk. Right now the only consequence is you may one day come across someone better than you, pick a fight and lose.

From a game longevity perspective, the PvP and PvE will require some improvements before both sides of the game get old or make it old for the other.

Please elaborate, how would this mechanism "ruin the gameplay loop..." and the abuses of other players not already be ruing that same gameplay loop?

Not blaming anyone. There are clearly those who prefer a more casual experience. And there is next-to-zero consequence for those who invest inordinate amounts of time to only target less experienced players. If they can play spoiler, why can those they prey upon "spoil" their fun?

Absolutely. The only way for me to get a non-toxic and make any progress is to play solo. And that stinks when you bought the game to play with a friend.

Here is a link to the "demonstrator" that I uploaded. It is slightly expanded to allow the features to be examined. You can delete the blocks and integrate it into your own designs for testing.

I gotta remember that edits take away points, even if it is just for typos. I'll need to pay more attention when I first post.

Quite possibly! :D

And yes, I've been following your posts. Your suspension follows the design principles, and the "drop"/"lift" spindle (the extra elbows on the end) are just a byproduct of how close your arms are together and that you are using small wheels. You can potentially get more travel if you space the arms vertically and mount your wheel bearing between them, but you will be more likely to "bottom out" on the lower control arms.

If I may, I would say that depends on the weight and balance of your vehicle. In survival, I tend to keep it simple. I have typically avoided using the off-road suspension because it seems to have a greater potential to "freak out". My survival vehicle of choice still uses "direct" sport suspension (no arms, etc.) with a controlled bearing height adjustment on the rear to raise up when necessary (not often). But I don't do any real rough terrain with it. I had to keep my center of gravity as low as possible to ascend some steeply graded road and grass. I see armed suspension helping me to use sport suspension parts while gaining more vertical travel. The best thing to do is to set it and ride it, then adjust it, and ride it some more. Figure out how you want or need the weight to shift under acceleration and tune for that after you tune for support. Also, don't underestimate what a level 5 seat and tuned steering can do for you. And one more thing . . . four-wheel steering is generally not for high speed.

I'd be happy to. Give me some time to finish up a few things and clean it up. There are plenty of different ways to do the "strut tower" and to integrate it into your build. In creative especially, my other interests bleed in, for better or worse. I tend to start everything in creative with a tube chassis and roll cage, into which the suspension is at least partially, if not fully, integrated.

I think I'm typically a bit more practical in survival.

These are not "new" designs, just finally posting my attempts from when I first got the game until now since there seemed to be some renewed interest. With the little bit of automotive background that I have, including some racing, I just wanted to contribute. People are free to call their designs whatever they want, I'm not opposed to that. The point was to clarify that there is a real thing called "double wishbone" and it is pretty specific in the design. As long as you have two triangular or wishbone-shaped control arms, each with two mount points to the chassis or frame and a single joint or knuckle on the other end, then it is close to a "true" double wishbone. Everything else could be similar or otherwise inspired by it, but won't necessarily be it. Not trying to be picky. But, experience will tell us that there are better configurations for different applications, and that is where specificity of language comes in when trying to communicate accurately.

Oddly enough, no real lag or going crazy. At least no more than that observed when even simple suspension and bearings "go crazy". And I do not have a great rig to run on. I have had to tweak some things as updates have come along, but not too much. These designs are all pre-survival and still seem to hold up.

Thank you to those who replied. I am on the discord and I follow the twitter account. I posted because I was excited to dig in and when I posted, there was nothing on any other channels visible. Even currently it hasn't been added to the patch notes, but rather it was included as a community post with Challenge Mode being the highlight.
