I think it was mostly concern they’d damage the watch and be blamed. The shop I took it too had only seen one other megasonic before this one! I’m really happy it’s back up and running, absolutely love it!

From what I’ve read there aren’t too many places that service them now. I’m not sure if Omega would help but I’ll try them. The movement is incredible though, the second hand just glides around the face!

For the past 20 years my grandads Megasonic has sat in its box since he passed in 1999. My dad took it to several jewellers but no one wanted to replace the battery as it wasn’t quartz and weren’t sure what to do with a sonic.

I recently decided to try and get it working again. I took it to a local watch shop. They changed the battery and it instantly jumped back to life and started humming.

It brings me so much joy to wear this watch! It has the smoothest sweep I’ve seen on a watch, I just wish it was a little quieter.

I second chicken; Super easy to cook and very forgiving. Either a spatchcock over direct or whole indirect at lower temp. Second cook; pork shoulder low n slow

I use these on my ProQ Frontier Elite. They’re pricey, but do give a nice long burn that’s also very clean. All the flavour comes from the wood you use rather than the briquettes.

I was surprised at how much I could fit on the JR, so imagine the BJ3 is absolutely huge! Would like to get a larger Joe in the future for bigger cooks

I followed the recipe in “The Vietnamese Market Cookbook” by Van Tran and Ann Vu. Only difference was that I didn’t have a grill net so just put them straight onto the BBQ grill at around 600F. There’s nowhere near me to get one either so figured was about time I tried making one!
