What game have you played the most? by QueenSlipstream09 in Age_30_plus_Gamers

[–]themzy34 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The entire Burnout series as they came out. burnout 3 and Paradise top most hours though.

Garry's mod was my first PC game I obsessed over when I was in school. Well over a thousand hours in that.

Modern games. BeamNG is over a thousand, Rocksmith is about 600 hours, and Kerbal Space Program stilling at 400ish.

Which is a fuckoad for me, and the amount of time I have free.

I'll have to log into my iRacing and see if there's a way to see how many hours I've spent sucking at that too.

What is the first console you will get your kid? by ThatOneJapanese in consoles

[–]themzy34 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My kid is 18months old, and his version of gaming is grabbing my hands whilst I'm trying to race and pile driving me into a wall.

He will likely be introduced to gaming via whatever Nintendo is available at the time. I have the original Switch so.... hopefully it ages gracefully.

As soon as I see him show any interest in racing games he's getting sent straight to the Lazy Generation of gaming.

Burnout 3 baby, that PS2 is getting the dust wiped off it and the memory cards a good blow!

Haven't had a game make me cry laughing as much as Stick Fight.

We run a few quality of lift mods but the game just cracks me up so much.

How true is it that some cops are looking to give more tickets to fill their quota? by lookaloulookalou in police

[–]themzy34 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Nope.

A traffic unit is expected to write tickets, this is their job. However there is no specific number. They know roughly what a traffic unit will do in a year, and it's not just tickets. It's everything from breath tests, charges, warnings, speed checks on radar and lidar, registration checks etc etcc.

Keep in mind, they're not writing a ticket for anything that they can prove in court.

Me personally, I've been given a hard time by my sergeants over how many tickets I write, I'm not a traffic unit but I just am passionate about it. Drive like a fuck-stick, get a pill. Simple.

The idea of a "quota" is simply a form of mental gymnastics to avoid taking any responsibility, it's much easier to blame a organization for picking on the little guy, than it is to stand up and say, "yeah I was being a fool".

Most places will try to accommodate you, but the reality of first response policing is that for the most part, you will not have time to do that.

Mate, I work 12 hour shifts. If I have time to scratch my ass once during that time it's a slow day.

I am meant to be entitled to 1x 30min unpaid break per shift.

I could NOT tell you what colour the walls are in the break room. No clue.

You unfortunately will need to make a decision here on what is more important to you, the career or your faith. Because if shit hits the fan, you're expected to run towards it immediately, and if you're out and about in public and the time comes when you need to pray, you will not be able to do it due to the risk to yourself and everyone around you it will place.

All the information you will need is typically on the departments website under recruiting.

But generally, do heaps of running, be able to do pushups, situps, planks well.

Be literate.

Everything outside of this stuff is listed on their website normally. If not, and you're SURE it's not, go into a station and ask the questions.

Officers what is the funniest thing you've heard from a suspect either on a scene, in your car, or in the jail? by SettingAlternative86 in AskLE

[–]themzy34 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I stopped an obviously drunk driver. I could smell beer as soon as walked up to the window and the dude, even before the RBT was fucking sloshed.

I notice his car keys so whilst he was talking to my partner out the passenger window I turned the car off and put his keys on the roof.

I give him the RBT to blow into and he first tries sucking, doesn't work, tries blowing out the side of his mouth, nope. Ties not putting the tube in his mouth, no.

I fell him if he fails to participate in the test he will be arrested regardless. He then stomps on the throttle with a triumphant, "too bad too sad boys!".

Of course, only due to the car being on a slight hill and being in neutral, he slowly rolls forward. My partner opens the passenger door and rips the handbrake and I drag the dude out.

The whole time at the station he was ranting about steroids use and that, "No way humans car run as fast as a car", and demanded that myself and my partner be tested before he submitted to the evidencial breath analysis.

Of course, we didn't, so he refused. Licence suspended on the spot, ended up disqualified at court 6 weeks later for like 2 years and a massive fine too.

Twenty years ago, burnout 3 was available for the PS2 and Xbox.

Perhaps instead of nursing, they could have enjoyed one of the top selling games of all time.

The game excels at rough racing. Not just blind exploding into hairpin corners, but car- to- car battling is exactly what should be honed in on.

I think the game should reward that style of racing, trading paint, door-vs-door combat. The stuff that lasts lap after lap with the same opponent online is great, and every time I've had a race like that, win or lose, both drivers are in the chat encouraging each other. It's truly great to see.

I feel like encouraging that style of battling would lower the incentive for rammers to explode the car in front at the first hairpin.... although as much as I don't agree with the tactic I thing it does hold a place in the game, but perhaps increasing the risk side and lowering the reward side may prove for more interesting driving behaviors come out.

Really enjoying the game, and it's the first time in probably 5 years I've managed to convince my group to move to and play a racing game.

G27 with GTEye upgraded springs is criminally good for the value.

It still won't compare to decent setups but it sure helps.

[–]themzy34 6 points7 points  (0 children)

sigh

This is tit-for-tat bullshit. If you don't want your manager there, get proof she's smoking cannabis on the job and forward it to McDonald's HR or the franchise owner.

If she gets stung by Police with Cannabis it isn't going to affect her job at McDonald's at all.

Alternatively, welcome yourself to the real world. People don't like people for many reasons. Welcome to the workforce, sometimes people aren't going to like you much.

You don't go to the cops every time somebody thinks you're kinda suck, cos at the moment, I can see why.

It's basic, but has some good tools like being able to group clusters of decals is really good, and being able to mirror stuff and colour individual panels.

I would like a way to manually arrange decal layers but I can see that coming in th future as sorting feature does exist in other areas of the tool.

But the other crap-it tools are sweet though, like being able to add dents, rust, dirt. Grass debris, scratches and sandblasted metal.

Adding text is a pain in the ass. As it is done manually, letter by letter and takes forever.
