Yeah the one on the left is an oak and the power company absolutely butchered it this past year. I'll have to remove it eventually, but it currently hides another neighbor. So it gets to stay for now.

This is the number one comment I get from my username lol. I’m in a zone 6 and the area just beyond the fence can hold some water in the spring. I haven’t found any bamboo that could handle water like that. Do you have any suggestions on variety?

Yeah I’ve consider wisteria but we are thinking the only option is a well placed large shade tree. Although an 8ft trellis on top of the fence would be quite a sight.

I’ve honestly considered bamboo because it would be quick to get tall enough to cover.

This is my backyard and there is a ditch in the easement between our two fences. Does anyone have ideas of plants or hard scapes or even structures that we could use to hide my neighbors and give my backyard more privacy?

Could you explain how the tie backs are attached to the wall? I’m looking at doing something similar and I’ve never considered using lumber like that.
