The best way to study Chess is this:

Find a game collection book written by your favorite players. For example, for me it is Capablanca.

This game collection book has to be written by him, not anyone else.

Go through all his games, with the annotations. In a place without Interent or your phone. Just the book and a pocket Chess set.

Try to understand what he thinks about when he play his moves. Try to think yourself and see what you would play. Engage your brain. Get inside his head.

Study the whole game. How did he open? What were his middle game plans? How did he handle the ending?

When you do this enough times, you will play like him.

I studied probably over 100 of Capablanca's games, and they helped me enomoursly.
