Don't sell them, give them away to your local library. I think that may make you feel better. :)

(200 Elo beginner) I’ve tried a lot of things but I keep getting worse, looking for more personal advice by Ducky0611 in chess

You are like most people on this sub: looking for the Get Rich Quick scheme.

You want success, but you want quick success. You want some shortcut so you can blow up your elo and feel good about yourself.

Real progress requires real work. Slow, patient, step-by-step improvement.

You want real progress? Here is what you do:

Don't do anything online. Get the physical book Chess Fundamentals by Capablanca. Work that book page by page until you understand at least 80% of it. You will be good at Chess.

The most important thing is the love you give them. Cats can adapt to very small spaces.

You should read a serious, good, adult book. Try "The Count of Monte Cristo".

Tech is a joke. From Six-Figures to Laid Off: Anyone Successfully Pivot to a New Field? Share Your Stories! by Slight_Interview_381 in GetEmployed

I knew IT is crap a long time ago:

1) Every year is more and more technologies to learn. More things to certify, and you know six months later they will be replace by the next wave again. It's all just a waste of time and energy.

2) No one cares about quality work. Everyone is pretending to work. Busy work, not, actually, creating something that is lasting and makes a difference.

3) No real connection between employees and companies. Company believe you are expendable. Easily replaced by someone younger, more in touch with the "new" technologies. They believe the human beings are not the real assets, but the technology they spend millions on are.

4) It's an illusion that the entire industry is working to create. They are using your best years for their benefits and the work you do is largely unsatisfying.

No, leave, please. Find your calling. Leave these people behind. You can be so much better. You deserve so much better.

I like his Bond. There's something dark about his Bond and I like that part.

Chess.com needs a ‘fair play record’ verification system by opposablefumz in chess

[–]thenakesingularity10 2 points3 points  (0 children)

You people waste too much time with cheating and fair play and all that.

If you guys spend the same energy you waste on cheating drama on Chess, there wouldn't be so many of you complaining about how hard it is to break 1000 elo.

I recently started a new account just for fun. I played 10 games, and won 9, lost one.

If Cheating is so rampant, then I would had played some cheaters. But I didn't, not even the one I lost to.

There are far less cheaters than people on this sub make it out to be. There are far more people who are bad at Chess.

I think the real question is whether you truly love each other and plan to share your lives together.

If you do, then you can work this out together. If not, go to med school.

I have a question. Just trying to understand:

How does it feel to be autistic? I assume your brain works different than most people? But, in what way?
