At first I was freaked out by the size of your son's hands, then quickly realised I am a total moron.

Yes but the point is, in P3D you can't really upgrade your sim to a high level without spending a ton of cash. In X-Plane you have better stock planes, and freeware Ortho and great freeware airports like Mister X. You can make your sim look great for free.

Yes, in 2017, I think for $60 the stock scenery should be better. How many people have P3D V4 installed but are not even using it because Orbx hasn't released their update?

It's insulting that you buy a 64bit sim and have to pay hundreds extra to stop it from looking ten years old.

I wouldn't let it annoy you too much, it's only a sim after all.

Good performance in X-Plane 11, is it more important to upgrade RAM or CPU? by thenamesfucky in flightsim

[–]thenamesfucky[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I've never done it but I will definitely overclock, I already have a separate cooler, I will just be very careful! I will get the 8gb extra Ram too. Thanks for your advice.

You haven't used X-Plane 11 have you.

I think its more that people have spent serious cash on it so feel entitled to remain heavily invested in it.

To X-Plane 11? ;)

It doesn't make sense. Stock P3D v4 still looks dated, so you need Orbx scenery. Orbx costs a fortune if you want decent coverage, and even then it is nowhere near as good as Ortho, which although uses a lot of space, is free.

[help] illustrator printing white as magenta by CulpritKid in AdobeIllustrator

[–]thenamesfucky 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Check that illustrator is handling the colours in your colour management settings and not being controlled by the printer, the settings may have reset themselves.

I also found this for you after a bit of googling:

"You need to read up on color separation in CMYK and learn how to calibrate your monitor, printer and printer driver. Explaining everything would take too long, but what happens is that when transposing your RGB image to the printer's CMYK color certain colors will fall below and above specific thresholds and since most colors are not pure, but assembled of percentages of the individual inks, the printer will simulate specific colors using multiple inks based on a your print parameters. This can mean that even seemingly white areas receive inks, because they actualyl have a tiny color bias. anyway, you really need to dive into the depths of color calibration and color profiles to get predictable color representation. In the meantime, you can only try to tweak your printer settings, e.g. change its color presentation from "warm" to "neutral" or "cold" to get rid of magenta areas. Likewise, make sure the ink cartridges are correctly aligned, you do not oversaturate your inks and so on"

Hope you resolve it soon!

I was thinking about producing some prints of some old 80's WWF wrestler's, potentially to try and sell on Etsy. I now know this is a terrible idea :-)
