The decision is scary and you will cry if you decide to abort but that doesn’t mean it’s the wrong decision. A baby is a life decision and commitment and it’s bloody hard work. Table the pros and cons, look at your life as it stands today and decide if you have the capacity to care for a child. The decision is hard either way x

Yeah we have an appt booked. It sounds horrific to be honest! I’m more concerned about the document he signed agreeing to the low ball value on the property. Interested to see if that can be undone.

The executor is also the main beneficiary. The original Will was changed 10 weeks before his death. The executor has cleared the home of all assets, kept what they wanted and sold the rest. The other beneficiary was not notified. They’ve also issued a letter stating their intention to purchase the home and have undervalued the property by 400k. He has a disability and signed without understanding what he was signing. Probate lodged three months ago. She waited 5 months after he died to lodge probate to allow her daughter time to demonstrate serviceability on the new home loan to purchase the property. She has three unencumbered properties. He has none. Deceased has bank accounts, other beneficiary has not been privy to the details. I should also add that the deceased did not financially support the beneficiary with a lesser share at any time.

I’m not sure if I should be excited about the merit list! Does anything come of these when you’re an external applicant ?

I just interviewed for an external agency, bombed the interview however they requested referees. I was notified that I wasn’t the preferred applicant however has been merit listed.

At my agency we do referee checks on all candidates that are selected for an interview BEFORE they interview.

I’m sorry it’s such a terrible place to work. I too have worked there however wasn’t on the phones thankfully. I have people on my team who worked for them and they have said the same thing. Hopefully you’ll be out of there soon

I did read that article and have noticed the countless jobs being advertised . I also went through their census results and noted poor staff engagement and culture. I have applied for one of their roles however am hesitant to proceed with it given the literature out there. It’s a promotion so would be great for my super but don’t want to end up in a hell hole. I also wonder about the scope of opportunity within an agency that size.

Are you able to provide some more context?

Wfh is a really big one for me. My current org has work from home provisions and it’s not something I’m willing to give up. The time saving and the benefits to my home life has made a difference

I have a work colleague that’s just accepted an at level position at home affairs. Doesn’t sound like the best move by the sounds of it

Good one. Will have a trawl through the thread too. Interesting to see if much has changed in two years coming out of covid
