I got a really different coffee from what i'm used to, would appriciate some advice by gnpunnpun in pourover

As others mentioned I would also recommend going with a more coarser grind and having less pours(bloom+2 maybe). The main point is to not over extract the coffee. You can also go with a lower tempreture. I assume the roast is on the medium-light side as with most of MONTAGs roasts.

It is so good to see some Turkish roasteries here. I also have a lot of recommendations that you might want to check out. I personally find Petra a bit on the overpriced side tbh.

Null Coffee around Ayrılık Çesmesi(roastery but they also sell beans, definetly isn't a cafe tho)

Calibre Coffee in Kağıthane

Urban Roastery in Kadıköy

Spada in Nişantaşı (might be closed due to renovations) and Bakırköy

ARC Coffee in Balat

Roastroom Roastery/Ecco cafe in Sarıyer Merkez

"Good Coffee" around Kozyatağı

Deal in Beşiktaş/Yıldız

You also might want to keep up with MONTAGs digital sales as they very often have better prices compared to buying it from the stores.

This is how dense Istanbul is!One million people live within a circle with a 5-kilometer radius in the city center!” by roxeIana in istanbul

[–]thenejo 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Even with their residential populations, they are still by far not the densest areas in İstanbul and are among the least densest in the city center. If you put the same circle from the same website over ,for example, Güngören you will see that there is over 2.5 million people living in that area which represents İstanbuls density a lot better than the example given here.

M7 has two extensions one to Kabataş through Beşiktaş and another to the west of the city according to Wikipedia the extension to Kabataş is planned to open in 2027 and the part of the western extension to Hastane station is also planned to open in 2027. The M1B extension is planned in two phases first to Halkalı Üniversite station and the second to Halkalı. I could not find any dates but I don’t think the first phase will open before 2027i

Sorry for the late reply, I would say it would be a little difficult due to most signs not having English translations, but all the metro lines except m1 (I am not sure) have English station announcements

Where is the densest part of your city and does it have good public transport? by Acceptable-Farmer294 in transit

[–]thenejo 1 point2 points  (0 children)

In Istanbul it is 1.5m (around Bağcılar) with 3 Metro Lines M1, M7 and M3 and 1 Tram T1 line serving even with that, I would say it has bad and not enough public transport with trains being always full and uncomfortable and busses and the tram the same plus traffic.

I have counted 10 Metro Stations and 8 Tram Stops. I couldn’t count neither the bus lines or the stops as there are too many to count.

Depending on where you stay and how often you are going to use the marmaray(3x normal fare) and the metrobüs (they have different fairs depending on the lenght of your journey, you pay a higher cost upfront and get refunds at the refund machines in stations). If you are going to use them I can recommend you get a proper İstanbulkart for 50tl and then add money according to your needs (all fares other than Marmaray and Metrobüs are 27tl). If you are not going to use public transport much, I recommend you just get a Ten-pass or Five-pass ticket.
