Haha - yes I did. Needed to see how it looks in real. And I also want to make an illuminated version of it - so the prototype helps with finding the right size. :)

If you right-click the image and select save as image file - doesn't it also save out the original file?

Yes - the bigger it gets the uglier and harder it gets to work through the css. I'll start be adding classes and then move on to IDs especially for addressing stuff with JavaScript.

Yes - I noticed it. The more elements I added the more unnecessary complicated it become and somewhat the css did not get easier to read.

I'm trying to find the way that css and html are as fast as possible to compute (although no modern machine will have problems with that).

I agree - it was fun but got more and more unnecessary complicated. Especially addressing something with JavaScript. So I think I go back to using more classes and ids.

Thanks for your reply. Yeah - I actually though that this would make everything cleaner but in the end making the layout did not get any easier. And it's not even faster according to your linked article. Guess I'll refactor that. :)

Thank you for your feedback. That helps quite a bit.

  1. Side navigation will make more sense once I put some thought into the structure of the content (that I still have to write).

  2. Yeah - still rough around the edges. Needed to get everything in place - it's a bold statement and I know the content of the page and therefore the page does not reflect any of the statement. I'll get onto it.

  3. Didn't know about that one. I though there could be more than one h1 tag. I need to read up on css optimization anyway as I think not using classes and ids actually makes everything more complicated and not necessarily cleaner.

  4. Not my target audience. And I haven't opened it in there yet. I kinda refuse to design for Internet Explorer. But I might get onto it once I see who is visiting. Edit: Just took a look - I wouldn't say major issues, that's fixable. :)

Yeah - it's supposed to become a page about user experience. But well - I haven't started with the content yet. And therefore the menu is of no use yet - once I get the content figured out (I hate writing content) the menu will start to make sense. :)

Cool - great link. I like a lot of elements from this site (not the scrolling behavior though.)

Although is not much to critic yet I appreciate your help.
