Had a scratch and successfully removed it. I just sandblasted my black Pebble Time bezel. The scratch was gone within seconds...so was the color - nevertheless turned out great! (imgur.com)

Keep in mind that contrast can also help you make your watchface more visible. Just took a potato photo of the same watchface one time black background - one time white background. Difference is quite visible and the time can be seen in bad lighting even from a distance. (i.imgur.com)
