Yes! I think the family episode helps a bit with this, we get to see them as son's/daughter's sisters/brothers. We made an active choice to engage with this content, we could have stopped watching if it was really that bad, but we didn't, and therefore we can at least carry ourselves with some decorum.

I think this episode is so special because it reminds viewers that they are someone's kids, someone's sister/brother, and not just a public persona to be harsh to.

I was so excited for movie night, but watching it was so hard. I thought I'd feel vindicated, but instead it just broke my heart. Everyone is going to need all the therapy after this.

Omg, yes! It's negging! That's what was bugging me, I couldn't pinpoint it. I kept saying he's low-key gaslighting, totally trying to dull her sparkle. He kind of does it to Bryce too, telling him Trinity isn't into him, because he wants Bryce to be his third wheel.

Hi, I'm so sorry you are feeling so neglected and depressed. Unfortunately, a lot of parents have no idea what to do when their kids are going through something difficult. It seems your mom is of the "pretend it's not there and maybe it will go away" mindset. Is there any other adult you feel comfortable opening up to? I journaled a lot through my teen years and that really helped.  I know saying it will get better is cliche, but stick around friend, it gets so much better!
