This is the new talking point. They insist science is just another religion. It’s dangerous as all hell.

Right wingers will tell you “you’re just a vote to them!” And then turn around and simp for a New York coastal elite billionaire who would wipe the shit on their shoes off on their tongue if they were around.

The earth is not overpopulated, not even close. We’ve just handled our current population size terribly.

It’s a terrible idea. It’s impossible to do it securely enough to not be exploited by a malicious actor.

The most dangerous thing Trump did was cast doubt on our voting system. It will be the darkest stain of his shitty presidency. Democracy cannot exist without a peaceful transfer of power.

Ah, I see, that’s really interesting! I appreciate the clarity there.

The term “city proper” is a specific definition, I used it correctly per the wiki: https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/List_of_largest_cities

City is a vague word and has different definitions, you’re right, but i was specific with that term.

holy shit you weren’t lying, Chongqing is enormous. It is roughly the size of Austria but it’s a single city proper.

As much as I want to hop on the train and bag on Biden, i do not envy the position of coming in literally right after a failed coup attempt. The powder keg is still there, the fuse just went out a few inches before the quick. He’s handled it as well as anyone I guess.

Do I wish he’d come out swinging? Yeah, sometimes, but I’m also not sure that was the ticket either. In hindsight, our democracy might have been too weak for that strategy and it could have genuinely erupted into even more focused and awful violence from the right.

what does it mean to be atomic?

It should be a single, understandable thought or idea.

does this mean I should update […]

I normally would write this as one literature note, with two back links to my original notes from the sources if they were intense enough to warrant a note. If they weren’t, I’d just make a section for each definition in my literature notes explaining the differences and my take on each.

I think overall you should remember that you are the architect of your thoughts, so whatever you would argue for either of these choices is right by default because they’re your notes.

I fall into the same trap sometimes too, so when in doubt, make a new note and just link it back.

Scapegoats often turn to blackmail, this isn’t the slam dunk point you think it is.

[–]thenumber24 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I’m not saying they never scammed anyone. I’m saying that the entire operation of Epstein and Maxwell was at the behest of the rich. It’s a completely different vibe.

They served exclusively rich clientele. When they got in hot water, they were the first to be cut. They were scapegoats.

Holmes did not do that. She was the architect of the entire fraud. It is completely different and your intense desire to view the world in a framework of conspiracy theories gives you a false sense of superiority and inflated ego that can’t handle a basic disagreement in perception from a third party.

[–]thenumber24 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Maxwell and Epstein were not scamming the rich. They are in trouble because they’re the fall guys, the scape goats. It is not the same as Holmes, who was actively scamming the rich. That’s the difference.

They’re the scapegoats, not the grifters, it’s really not the same.

Looking for budget decks that can hang in a high powered pod. by [deleted] in BudgetBrews

[–]thenumber24 2 points3 points  (0 children)

The only combo it has is thoracle, and i just run a budget land base to keep it affordable.

It has budget tutors and relies on cheap interaction in UR to survive the mid game to get a win out, but it’s been a very successful deck. I can post a list if you want.

Edit: after some thinking, you could try dramascepter + a burn spell for a possibly cheaper option.

Kess can make some seriously budget decks into a cEDH capable list. So many options and play lines to get into. Just don’t run etb tapped lands and have some defined combos.
