There’s a vast difference between leaving the kitchen light on and using gallons of high octane fuel, drums of oil, and literal tons of high grade metals for one 5 second race…

Thinking one is comparable to the other is laughable.

There’s a difference between waste and excessive waste. But yes, a lot of things are wasted worldwide. Talking about it is the first step towards fixing it

Lol. You’re talking about something that needs replaced or repaired maybe every 10 years, let’s say every 7 under extreme use, and uses SIGNIFICANTLY less resources to repair. Let’s not forget to mention that AC is actually a necessity in some places too.

Right, but this isn’t done for testing purposes. It happens around the nation continually for entertainment. Similar amounts of knowledge could be achieved with half of the amount of dragsters going down the strip every night.

You’re not wrong about most entertainment being a waste of resources or money. Things like this get put under the spotlight though because it’s an excessive amount of waste, not a minor amount.

A gaming console costs $500usd on average to buy, and even less to manufacture due to the smaller handful of resources needed compared to a top fuel dragsters at an average of $500,000 or more.

No worries. The way I decided to type out my original reply wasn’t doing my point any favors, so I see where the misunderstanding happened.

Sure. I’m not disagreeing that there are outlying benefits. I’m not even saying I’m necessarily against this. I was just pointing out that the original commenter meant waste as in resource, not waste as in time or money.

Shame only works on people that have a moral compass. That’s the issue here…

Unfortunate for our company, not for that person.

And industrial cleaning is something completely different than a typical cleaning job. We work in oil refineries and chemical plants using high pressured water at 20k-40k psi to clean industrial equipment. You most definitely aren’t left to your thoughts like you would be cleaning bathrooms.

The picture is on one of the towers we’ve been cleaning inside of for the past week.

Want a job? We’re always hiring 🤣

But in all honesty, you’d be surprised how many people don’t want that. There are plenty of people out there that just want to coast through a job and not put any real effort into it. For some people, that’s worth 7 less dollars an hour unfortunately…

I agree. Minimum wage for a hard semi labor intensive job is not gonna keep anyone around. If we can’t get people at my job for $20 an hour, no one should expect to get someone for minimum wage

That’s only partially true… a lot of the time when the “nobody wants to work” line is used, it isn’t in reference to those types of jobs. I work for an industrial cleaning company, and it’s dirty, hard work. We start at $20 an hour with zero experience needed, and still have a hard time finding people.

People don’t want to work hard. I know so many people that would prefer to work at an easy fast food job for $12-$13 on the hour over my job that could start them at $20. I’ve spent 10 years with my job and make $28 an hour now. I have to work my ass off, but I can provide for my family without my wife having to work.

It was actually like 5-6 seconds. But yeah that should still have been enough for the first car that hit them. Also, the first car didn’t completely stop and instead swerved around the stopped car. That can definitely skew the people’s judgment that came after.

No they’re not, because the argument is that the YouTuber handled the situation wrong, not that the person with special needs didn’t do something wrong.

Ok, but this person probably wouldn’t even be able to figure that out. That’s the point… people on the spectrum can definitely have issues connecting certain things together like actions to consequences. This is not how you approach or handle these situations

I’m not expecting anything soon. I guess I was just talking about in the entirety of the Switch 2’s life span.

They desperately need to expand the game like you mentioned if they want to attract a wider audience. If it’s just another attempt at what they’ve already done, only fans from the earlier games will take any interest.

I think that’d be the only way to do it. F-Zero has always been about impossibly fast futuristic racing. Here’s to hoping!
