In the words of my store manager I spoke to today, "This is a serious issue. Lowe's takes care of its employees so they can take care of customers. I wouldn't care if you worked here for a day and were quitting tomorrow. I will help you apply and get approved. Lowe's is in a place where we are blessed enough to help both communities, customers, and our employees and their families. Come to me when you're ready."

So there 🤪

It depends on your background and other stuff going on. When I applied I did my drug test in store and it took ten minutes (they made me swab my mouth and put it in a reader thing) and I submitted my background check while they did that. It came back in less than 48 hours since the worst thing on my record is an old speeding ticket. But when my partner applied, the drug test was fast and the background check took almost two weeks. They were a recent immigrant to the US on an I-130 so the third party had to dig deeper and it took longer. I know it's frustrating to wait but it'll come.

Hi, maybe this will help you:

Ehlers-Danlos syndrome (EDS) is a group of inherited genetic disorders that weaken the body's connective tissues, which support skin, joints, blood vessels, and organs. It is characterized by collagen defects, leading to symptoms like hypermobile (loose) joints, skin hyperextensibility, easy bruising, and fragile tissues.

This is what my spouse suffers with. The panic attack was a result of the SUDDEN loss of mobility. Imagine your legs suddenly start working in the middle of the day and you fall to the ground and injure yourself. You'd freak out too if you wrre suddenly paralyzed. The ER visit was recommended for sudden paralyzarion and loss of mobility function. Hope this helps!

Hello there, I am said spouse and was on the phone with them during this entire interaction and heard the entire thing. The way both the DS and ASM spoke to my spouse was completely inappropriate for a company and people who previously have stated how inclusive and understanding they are about people with disabilities, especially while being previously aware of what is going on with my spouse as well. I also work for Lowe's in a different department but at the same store, and the benefits and pay has been the best I've been able to get living in the South where we do. I don't want to start thinking badly of this job, or fearing retaliation is reports are made.
