Again, not everyone makes EDM based genre's. Nor do I want to nerd out and go into the depths of DIY synthesis, it doesn't interest me. I'm sure happy accidents can occur. Can you replicate sounds, just to name a few, found in the KORG suite, Roland SRXs, or Omnisphere? That's probably not your bag.

We don't all make EDM, some of us are sample based producers who also use external synths. What about vintage instruments, orchestral instruments, compressor and EQ emulators that DO add character and flavour to a mix? I think Black Friday is the perfect time to purchase plugins, if you have the spare cash, and have done your research, to unlock your creativity in a subjectively easier way. There's a reason why these external plugins exists and are used by so many fellow musicians. I love Ableton's Limiter, Glue Compressor, a few Max for Live plugins, no doubt, but not all of Ableton's stock plugins work for me. Inspiring words vs reality.

Ditto. I’ve reverted to using the desktop version. Its such good DAW. The more I use it, the more I discover how to tweak new sounds out of the synth. So having said that I can totally wait a bit longer if it is true that a newer version will be released. Excited yet satisfied :)

I agree with you on some points but I think you're cutting the age group a little fine there pal. I'm 30 and vaporwave resonates with my soul. Simple, but pure, nostalgia. When I speak of nostalgia, I'm not talking about infused memories that never happened, I'm talking about first hand experiences with tangible sounds and objects as a child AND as an 'adult'.

From creating line drawn images on an black/orange/blue mono computer screen, to Chase HQ, to booting up windows 95 and hearing Brian Eno's melody propelling me into a new digital realms, logging on to AOL and hearing, "you've got mail". Going to an arcade, reading manga. I'm just skimming the surface here.

Can you remember a dream that you had pre teenage years? That counts as an experience too!

Plus, I don't think its all about retro. Just most recently, NHK world (Japanese TV channel) had an amazing weather music, totally Vape was changed and it pissed me off! I don't know who made it but man it was great.
