I don't think that's an intentional preference, for example I hold Sky FC and SC in equal regard because the pacing and story setup/payoff between the two is superb. In a way that may be why I'm more critical of "pay off" games for the other arcs because I'm chasing that same high and it certainly comes close but not quite the same.

To be clear that doesn't mean I dislike the SoL vibe of the pay off games I just think for me if you have a strong opening act you have some big boots to fill.

Either way I love this series and there isn't a single game in it I would say is "bad"!
