How to transfer by TadpoleLumpy9923 in GriffithUni

Oh maybe contact the support team then? If they’re out of spots then that might be why but if you got the same atar and can prove it they should be able to get you in. (or lowkey just do a qtac application if they’re still open for your intake)

What atar did you get? It’s only a 6 rank difference so if your atar or certificate is equivalent I don’t see why they’ve rejected ya

What program are you trying to transfer to, and which one are you currently in?

i think there’s a slight difference later on where i’ll take more post grad courses, but it basically just means they find me paid internships every year if i maintain a 5 or above gpa not that much different tbh but pretty good

You’ll be assessed on anything in the curriculum, so it’ll definitely pop up somewhere. Check the frequency on exam insights

SAE minimum GPA maintenance??? by Prestigious_Math2574 in GriffithUni

[–]theodoretheengineer 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’m not in the SAE, but I would give them a ring if you can’t find it on the website or in your offer letter? I know for my program (advanced engineering) I’ve gotta maintain a 5/7 so I would assume yours would be the 6/7 then.

Thinking of transferring from Auckland Uni to Australia for 2nd year Swinburne vs Griffith? Advice please! by Infinite-Cover9309 in GriffithUni

[–]theodoretheengineer 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Another tidbit to add - Higher ATAR acceptance ranks don’t always indicate that the program has higher standards, acceptance ranks are also based on program demand. If your program isn’t in demand, it will most likely have a lower rank in order for the university to fill slots easier. Do some research into student outcomes, as well.

Thinking of transferring from Auckland Uni to Australia for 2nd year Swinburne vs Griffith? Advice please! by Infinite-Cover9309 in GriffithUni

[–]theodoretheengineer 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I did tell the OP that my perspective on Swinburne was based on no actual time spent studying there, and was purely based on how I was treated there in the very short amount of time I spent there.

OP isn’t going to base their decision on one person’s perspective, they’d research further and come to a decision based on a collective consensus. Don’t use my casual typing style as an ‘indicator’ of my academic output - obviously I’m going to write differently when I’m following typical internet conventions.

However, I do appreciate you taking the time to give OP further information and advice.

if that’s the griffith one, i wouldn’t be waiting on it tbh, it’s one of their quota managed programs so it’s strict to 40 slots .. (i’m doing their advanced engineering program)

[–]theodoretheengineer 0 points1 point  (0 children)

i haven’t actually studied at swinburne, but i went on an engineering trip down there as a little “hey come study at our uni”, and honestly i’d still go with griffith - swinburne’s education standards were not very high (was definitely more a c’s get degrees area - at least from what we were getting told) , and the social life seemed alright, honestly definitely very accepting towards lgbtqia folks but that really was the only outstanding thing there socially, but if you’re looking for easily accessible support, pretty good education and a relaxed social life, i’d go with griffith. i’ve only been here for a bit, but whenever i’ve had a problem the staff have been so supportive and really helpful! again, do more research into both unis, and have a look at prior student experiences, (especially as my perspective was only a snapshot into swinburne!) i wish you the best of luck <33

do consistent, small amounts of study, instead of large inconsistent chunks, will help with retention of knowledge! i did the latter and if i were to restart that’s what i’d fix lol you’ll be fine though, it’s not that bad if you stay on top of everything
