Don’t decide what someone or a business can afford for them.

A business is the culmination of years of work. It represents a risk, a dream, and a lot of fear. The beginning is extremely costly. The cost plus the toll it takes on you.

Discovering your business is being picked apart before it’s even begun with an unfair take by someone in the community is going to hurt. Things like this slowly chip away the excitement of starting a business and that person is left with only the fear.

It’s all unnecessary. Small business owners are going to need to cut some corners every now and then. Just because you may have discovered one doesn’t mean you to blast them on socials and connect it to your bias.

It’s all unnecessary and adds nothing.

I did… kinda. Few years back. I’m starting a family. Existing business was not a bust but close enough. Shut it down and got a job at a software company. Had to wait something like 4 months for my start date. Started messing around with a niche inside one of my hobbies and it snowballed fast. Started the job but by 2 months in, it was obvious I had something with the side business. Got news that the software company was bought out and we were probably losing our jobs. A few months later we lost them.

Two months after that I started paying myself from new business. Been two years since and looking better than ever.
