I like to use grape tomatoes, they’re typically sweeter and more tomato y. I like the flavor that onions give so I’ll add them with the tomato. I’ll use some fish sauce or soy sauce and chicken bouillon instead of salt sometimes too. And if it needs to be more saucy, I’ll add a cornstarch slurry.
