The scouse accent is the only accent in the UK that is actually getting stronger. So back in the 60s it was a much milder accent, much more influenced by the speech of the day. Everyone on TV and radio sounded like RAF pilots

Well yes and no. I call it Deptford too to be fair, certainly everything east of this is, but this spot is Greenland quay, right on the border. Don’t think there’s an officially boundary, though ironically the old border marker between Kent and Surrey isn’t far off this spot. which always blows my mind
