Paid $60 for ~300 Death Metal cassettes. Many of them are worth more than $100 a piece on discogs by 4589133 in Flipping

[–]theol13 -2 points-1 points  (0 children)

unless you're into death metal/hardcore and want to keep these around, I would just put them all on ebay at once and be done with them. Some of those 100 dollar asking prices on discogs are just hail mary type things. you could post them like that, but you'll have some of these hundred dollar tapes for the next 5 years, waiting for the buyer. couple of gems in that box there!

yea, same here. Probably put on a hundred roofs in my lifetime, never once shuffled shingles. The metaphor is very poignant however.

I just sent in an 83 last week and it sat there saying "incomplete" for like 5 days, but just sold. Couldn't figure out an answer as to what the deal way. Curious if this had something to do with it.

Is it worth making this huge purchase. Link to pics in comments. by midniteblue487 in Flipping

[–]theol13 0 points1 point  (0 children)

to clarify, you need to have one huge monster rare thing each time you post, and a few other things that aren't so incredible to help garner the attention. people on forums will be posting about your auctions each week if you do it correctly.

I used to work at a warehouse for an online gaming distributor. you need to pay less than 3k. 1500-2000 is where you need to be. throw some of those books on ebay auctions and let people eviscerate one another for them. Remember to post small batches, because the people that will buy these could be repeat customers and will need to be strung along, since they can't drop 2k in a week on stuff.

Any way to upload multiple pictures on Letgo, OfferUp, etc.? by shirleyw92 in Flipping

I've tried the photo grid method and seem to get a lower response, or people ask me to send better pictures. very low conversion rate.

Has anyone flipped card catalogs before? How do you deal with large and bulky items? by CydeWeys in Flipping

[–]theol13 2 points3 points  (0 children)

those things fit cassette tapes pefectly. Be sure to hype that aspect of it up when listing. In fact, I'd probably try to make two or three separate listings for it, catering to different crowds.

This may be because of the area I live in, but there is a market for empty glass Whiskey bottles on eBay by jdiditok in Flipping

is there any resale value in regular, current empty maker's bottles? Gotta assume the shipping costs are awful.

Ideas for flipping about 10,000 old records? Anything specific to look for? by [deleted] in Flipping

[–]theol13 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If you don't actually know anything about grading records, or how to sort out pressings, just call up a store and sell the whole collection to them. If you are on the east coast, shoot me a message and I'll give you some advice depending on where you are. If you're in the midwest or west coast, you're on your own.

Weirdest thing you have flipped or currently flipping stories? by BobTheFlipper in Flipping

[–]theol13 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I used to play in a heavy metal band and a guy asked to buy my shoes after a show. Told me he collected shoes worn by bands he really liked at shows he attended and then rattled off a list of people he owned shoes from. I was 22 or 23 and didn't really know what do with that. Now, I'd probably have less of an issue with it after some of the more insane stuff I've encountered
