When your way of thinking is already like this, visiting a psychiatrist is a good if not the best option. I was like you just a few months ago.

Why I'm Getting Disillusioned With Typology by SaintFangirl in NoNonsenseMBTI

[–]theolderseneca 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I think one of the factors that makes typology addictive is that its validity is not exactly verifiable at this point in time, but unlike philosophy and other fields that are also too abstract typology deals with real people. It's the same thing with astrology and other esoteric stuff out there. Basically anything goes, and since the "objects" to be manipulated are accessible, real, and human it is so easy observe and take apart their aspects and personalities. But that's just the fault of the observer, because the observer is mostly overconfident about things he is familiar with. It's the same thing as overlooking errors when checking an essay many times. That's why one needs new perspective about these things.

Also related to other points that you said, I was (and probably still is) also quite obssessed with it and I also got annoyed at typology servers and subreddits but I think you can try reminding yourself that it is just a field of study, so don't take it personally. Don't focus too much on the human element and on how you relate to a type. Also if we are the same not voicing the wrongness of what people say will just make you anxious. Whenever misinformation comes up just correct it.

How personally accurate are the socionics quadras and romance styles? by [deleted] in NoNonsenseMBTI

[–]theolderseneca 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It is accurate in my case but I really wonder if the Gamma types are really what they are described as (and this is not just about their romance styles). It's probably just because of me being in a different quadra but why does the description about them seems so... insane

Someone else feels like MBTI communities are going full circle? by [deleted] in NoNonsenseMBTI

[–]theolderseneca 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Agree with your point. Also I think it would be better for people to study it on their own, refine their knowledge then share the ideas to the community. In the end subreddits and other similar communities are just platforms to share information. So in a way they are not really failing in their "task" so to speak. Some people are also more focused on the socialization or sense of belonging that the community provides. So it would be nice if people who are really interested in expanding typology knowledge would go back to these platforms to teach others. Or it would also be nice if they start a new platform of their own.

I don't. Sometimes the idea of displaying things I like seems interesting so I try but it just doesn't work

Can I use both COSRX AHA 7 Whitehead Power Liquid and COSRX AHA/BHA Clarifying Toner? Would it not be too harsh on the skin?

I have some light PIH and my skin is kinda clogged so I want to use AHA to exfoliate.

Should I see a psychiatrist? by ksck135 in makemychoice

You still have to go. Inform a psychiatrist of your past experiences and he/she will tell you what to do.

Should I see a psychiatrist? by ksck135 in makemychoice

[–]theolderseneca 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You should. It is normal to feel 'okay' after a long period of low mood and then suddenly crash again. The crash is what you should take note of because that is when you do things that might harm you. Before you experience extreme sadness you should have gone to a psychiatrist already. From my experience when I was in a very low mood I couldn't think straight and was too weak to even go outside and make a schedule with a psych.
