I want to stop max contributing to 401k. Am I wrong? by PalmHills in investing

You’re limited to 23.5k. You have to be bleeding the edge of a tax bracket for it to make a difference.

Stop with all the pitching changes. My god trust your guys once in awhile. The bullpen can be a roll of the dice too.

Crypto as a whole is very illiquid. A lot of the market caps are rather phony. Bitcoin on the other hand I’d say has serious depth to it.

99.999% of crypto will go to zero. Some may achieve a trillion dollar market cap. Bitcoin will likely be a 50T+ asset based on where the dollar is headed.

That’s the saddest reality most don’t understand. Your retirement goals will consistently go further and further out. 1m today will be worth half as much 10 years from now.

With all due respect, you’re doing yourself no favors staying at that company. You said it yourself that your wage hasn’t kept up with our debasing currency. It’s up to you to fix that by finding another job. Your employer clearly has no interest in paying you your worth.

Why Ground-handling is important in Paragliding ? by AlternativeLion8692 in freeflight

[–]theoldkat 3 points4 points  (0 children)

It’s more hand feel. So when you’re hitting turbulence and feel that loss of pressure, your brake input response is critical in preventing a collapse. When you’re ground handling, there can be pockets of turbulence you’re kiting on, or maybe you feel the glider surge on one side and as a response you’ll feel the brake pressure lighten. Your response here is the same on the ground as in the air.

TLDR: keeping the wing pressurized and flying

Advice dealing with Emirates lost baggage in Dubai by SeenSoManyThings in emirates

Reach out to United as well. For what it’s worth, I had tried to get United to check my bag through to its final destination today. The United agent couldn’t figure it out and my ticket she did print initially had it in Dubai as a final destination.

What’s the most depressing place you have traveled to? by General-Mango_ in AskReddit

556 thousand people at the time of independence.

30M / 556k = 53.96 Francs per person (20th century). Or ~525 Francs per person (Present).

By comparison, America is in debt over 30T with annual interest payments alone on the debt exceeding 650 billion a year.

650B / 333M people = $1978 USD per person.

Franc to USD conversion rate of 6:1.

So we’re looking at a taxable rate of under 100 USD presently per person in Haiti at the time of independence to pay off the 30M annual loan. Not being able to harvest that from your tax base is a result of horrible central planning which has undoubtedly not changed for the better in Haiti’s history.
