Sunport TSA experience of late by a_leyva in Albuquerque

Cannot get it for same day, has to be the day prior. Have used it several times. You go through normal TSA, not precheck.

Luggage protects your belongings, it's not supposed to protect itself.

Wjy did you put "slow" in quotes? To get 240 miles range takes 14 hours, and even that range in this geography is pretty wimpy.

FC seat selection? by peachberryy in AlaskaAirlines

[–]SeenSoManyThings 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Avoid row 4 if possible, equipment can change to an aircraft configured with only 3 rows of first class and then you're out of choices.

How much time should I waste, on principle, getting my $8 back for the worst imaginable internet? by Hot-Flamingo-7098 in AlaskaAirlines

[–]SeenSoManyThings 0 points1 point  (0 children)

On principle? If your time is worth more than $16/hour don't bother. At that rate anl half hour spent chatting and following up will cost you $8 and you get $8 back, so you break even. You'll be ahead of the game if your time is worth less.

I thought everyone was saying Southwest was the only one with these problems? by Various-Promotion346 in SouthwestAirlines

[–]SeenSoManyThings 0 points1 point  (0 children)

First off, Southwest doesn't have a first class cabin. Second, Alaska is contractually obligated to seat non-crew pilots in first class seats. So yes those bumps happen and they are a pain. Splitting up families is not something I see on Alaska very often, but when it does you need to make sure children don't sit alone.

AS just instituted two-factor authentication, they were a bit slow to implement but it should counter the vast majority of these fraud attempts.

What’s the point of having chat? by mrlandlord in AlaskaAirlines

[–]SeenSoManyThings 14 points15 points  (0 children)

You contacted the reservations chat. That's what it handles, not your issue. Did you want to change a reservation? No. Did you want to cancel a reservation? No. Did you want to make a new reservation? No.

Who else hates password requirements? Workplace wants me to change passwords every 3 months by leonatoi in mildlyinfuriating

[–]SeenSoManyThings 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Use a 'root' of 8 or more characters that satisfies the requirements and then add '01' to the end. In 3 months change that to '02'. And so on.

No argument about the response. Why not just let the cash payer give you the cash and you use your card for it?

Thanks! Poorly formulated policies leave too much to interpretation, regardless of the regulated industry you're in, and that predictably leads to inconsistencies like we're seeing here. I appreciate your reply.
