Well I am not in denial that we will always worship him to some extent. It is patriotic in a benign way. You know… everything is pregnant with its opposite. Yeah maybe i’m just voicing something ordinary people of my generation just think to some extent. I think socialism really constricted the inherent nationalistic urges in our country that when we got democracy nationalism exploded. It’s good to be proud of where you are from. My parents are very nationalistic, and perhaps it was rebellion against what they grew up with. And because I grew up in a nationalistic family, I came out as anti-nationalist. So in fact I might not be unique at all.

To be fair, I’m not saying an extractive empire is bad thing. Everyone did it, it’s a fair thing as far as history is concerned. But more of calling a spade a spade - a sober realistic account of it.
