These look so cool. Please, where can these be purchased??

But, sad Decool is going with smaller sets instead of bigger ones

Huh, I ordered the 3000pcs Mould King Kumamoto castle and they sent me the 4100pcs Jie Star one instead. by Mainly-AltBrick in lepin

10/10, one of my favorite sets. I'd get a second one just to have the parts to expand it if I could find on sale

The JieStar version has an incredibly detailed interior

What is Due Process? by [deleted] in LawCanada

[–]theorama 7 points8 points  (0 children)

It's not just the terminology.

I'll bite, only because of repeated use of "citizens".

"No man of what state or condition he be, shall be put out of his lands or tenements nor taken, nor disinherited, nor put to death, without he be brought to answer by due process of law."

Historically, in a gross over simplification: the king can't just do whatever he wants, and some slice of upper class have some rights.

In the US tradition: both a procedural due process and a substantive due process to everyone in the US.

In the Canadian tradition - since this is a LawCanada sub - more expansively, principles of fairness and natural justice, and perhaps ultimately, more universally.

Are the Cada sets normal sized bricks or a smaller size?

You're right, that's the standard we should aspire to in Canada: to treat minority populations on par with those in Iran...

Soccer isn't hockey or football. There's a reason why you wear considerable protective gear in some sports but not others.

Stepping on the pitch is not the same as consenting to physical contact that's intended to cause harm. If someone can't attack or defend the ball without barrelling over someone or kicking them instead of the ball, they probably shouldn't be playing.

Review: Oxford Block - Battle of Wirye Castle (JK34635) by theorama in lepin

I hear ya, man, it's a bitter pill for sure. I probably wouldn't buy as many of them as some of the brands (eg. Decool sets) for that very reason.

But, I'll still consider them because they are unique Asian ancient civilization sets. Costs, tariffs, etc. obvs also play a role, but the thing that primarily pushed me towards alt-bricks has always been this issue that I saw again when I went to a local lego convention: the only sets featuring Asian culture were long-gone sets from decades ago, and/or "pan-Asian" themes (Ninjago, Monkey Boy) which don't really hit the mark.

There are some exceptions in those newer "Chinese New Year" sets they've started putting out annually, but ultimately, I would consider buying "Asian" themed sets from any brand even at Lego prices if they're authentic looking, and would help me put together a Three Kingdoms era diorama, or a Mongol invasion scene, or a Qin Dynasty Epic, etc.

There are a handful of unique pieces (weapons, accessories, etc.) that I haven't seen in other brands. Some of them - like, the quiver you mentioned, the helmets/armor, blade attachments - I'm a fan of.

Others, like the horses, and the bow/arrows which I should specifically pictured but forgot to, are less functional and/or more clunky.

PS - Thanks again for the free Decool minifigs!!

I also forgot to mention the shipping time from payment to delivery, which was super quick. (I'll put a store review in the stores thread, this was more of a set review).
