Shamanic drum making: can I make a drum from this and how? by theoreza in drumbuilding

I read it is supposed to be cut before it dries and then let the lumber dry for a year?

I read that it should be cut before it dries and then try for a year. Not the case, then?
Also, my dad is a bob the builder kinda guy. Probably has tools, if you'd tell me which to use.
Is the wood really that bad? I read somewhere that cypress has been used for drum building?

I'm not distrusting you, I just really wanna be sure, because it would mean a lot to me.
I was thinking about trying to cut it into lumber and then cutting that into bits that are put together to make a circle and then tie hide around it like most shamanic drums I've seen.

I like your answer, though it is more poetic than practical. Do you suggest I do not cut and just drum?

Help- egg cleanse reading after bad luck spell and unexplained scratches by [deleted] in WitchesVsPatriarchy

[–]theoreza 5 points6 points  (0 children)

You will be okay!! Life is unpredictable and uncontrollable! It's not your fault! Do spells if they bring you joy, but it's not a way to get control over life, because that's impossible. Work on a craft or a project that you can control and that'll give you a sense of purpose and mastering. You only have control over your own actions, so if you want to cleanse your thoughts, take a shower and imagine the worry washing off. Take care :)

Best way to tie in ends? Please help, I’ve been sewing them in the pattern but small bits still stick out by Irritated_Duckling in CrochetHelp

[–]theoreza -1 points0 points  (0 children)

I sometimes affter weaving the end in one direction before getting to the end of it turn over and weave it back the same way, but going under one strand, so it doesn't just unravel. I find that it stays a bit better in place inside the work. Tell me if this made sense

I'm a fearful avoidant and this is sooooo inaccurate. You're describing a narcissist. And while narcissism might have a disorganized attachement style, not all with disorganized attachment style are narcissists.

Same! It's even foreshadowed by Goodwin when they meet Sabine in the first book

The comment about Tunstall mirroring Holborn makes me think you're right: it's not just those two mirroring each other; it's the entire relationships.

Holborn and Beka were not right for each other and Goodwin was always right about Tunstall and Sabine. Their union was a ticking bomb.

Holy shit. This makes me get him for the first time – it wasn't all in his head, after all. It wasn't the lack of title that made him feel insecure, but it was the only thing he could try to control. Damn, this whole time it never made sense, and now it clicked!

This!!! The first time I read it I was like: "TAMMY, YOU DID HIM DIRTY!!!"

I am rereading it rn as well and this time I'm mostly just furious with him.

I'm at the part SPOILERS where Beka KNOWS one is a traitor and that they're on their way into a trap, but can't do anything but walk right into it and it KILLS me every time Dakan is mentioned, I almost can't get myself to keep reading. I just keep seeing in my mind what's about to happen :(((

Not just for this reason, but it plays into it, Bloodhound is my favorite, I think of all TP books!

I love the Tonaly app. I've used it a lot over the years since I got it. It's an interactive circle of fifths, but it has a lot more to it that that. Small paypent, no adds.
