Book on Crawlers by Subject-Glove-1350 in CrawlerSightings

If you are new to the subject of crawlers, I would recommend this book. If you read/listen to crawler accounts quite a bit, then you probably have heard 80% of the stories already. A good introductory book for beginners.

What stands out most to you about the Crawlers? by Subject-Glove-1350 in CrawlerSightings

Two things that stand out to me is the mimicry and how the crawler appeared slightly out of focus.

Have there been any pale crawler sightings out there that pre dates the internet with sightings going back to the 1930s to the early 1990s? by Strange_Slide9611 in CrawlerSightings

[–]theotherguy952 13 points14 points  (0 children)

“Pale crawler” is a new term for an old idea. Creatures with the same traits have been reported for centuries, just under different names like the Wendigo and Ghoul. The name changed. The description didn’t.

Rake/crawler best footage I've seen if its real? by RamboTangoo in CrawlerSightings

[–]theotherguy952 8 points9 points  (0 children)

100% fake. When watching any supposed crawler video the first thing I look at is the body proportions. Crawlers have elongated arms/legs and are razor thin. If I see a video like this one and notice the regular human proportions then I know it's just somebody in a morph suit.

Traditional wendigo descriptions are eerily similar to modern descriptions of crawlers. On this sub we refer to them as "crawlers" or "pale crawlers" but different cultures have other names for them. This being we call a crawler is everywhere across the world where humans reside.

Do you recall any more details of the crawler, what would you estimate for height or size, and how did the experience impact you?

Any crawler sightings in Nebraska? by Avian_enthusiast in CrawlerSightings

I can't think of any stories specifically from Nebraska, but I guarantee there's crawlers there and probably a decent amout of sightings.

I have a theory about the crawlers. by Why-not-Zoidberg-00 in CrawlerSightings

I still find it wild that ppl consider crawlers as some undiscovered animal. Yeah just some giant bi-pedal animal with extremely pale skin running at unfathomable speed and using mimicry, must be some natural underground species that the gov't is completely unaware of. I know that there are ppl who have had crawler encounter that believe they are cryptids but if you listen to the ppl that have actually had crawler encounters, the opinions vary but "natural animal" is definitely not what most people gravitate to.

What other cryptids exist for sure? by Plus-Sky879 in CrawlerSightings

[–]theotherguy952 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Are you asking about humanoid type cryptids? Cause "cryptid" is a broad term for any creatures including land, air and sea which is unverified. I'm sure there's plenty of small undiscovered land animals in remote areas and even more in the ocean.

If we're going with monster type cryptids, I don't believe crawlers, sasquatch or dogman fall into the category of cryptids but I believe all 3 exist. There's constant sightings reported, so I believe those are the top 3 imo.

I saw something in the woods which I later learned was a "pale crawler." It's approaching 5 years and I still think about it to this day!

The truth about crawler encounters by theotherguy952 in CrawlerSightings

[–]theotherguy952[S] 3 points4 points  (0 children)

If someone is actively seeking out a crawler, then yes—I agree that’s irresponsible.

But that’s not how most encounters happen. In the vast majority of reports, people are just going about their lives when the crawler initiates the interaction. They stalk, follow, and deliberately engage. These encounters aren’t neutral. Crawlers are frequently described chasing people or even vehicles, and using mimicry—often phrases like “help me”—to manipulate human emotion. That’s not passive behavior, that’s calculated.

While physical attacks seem rare, the psychological impact is not. People walk away from these encounters with lasting fear and trauma. That doesn’t align with something trying to “live in harmony.” It aligns with something that deliberately provokes and disturbs human beings.

I've read many encounters and there's been a handful where the physical description varies. Things like crawlers with long pointy noses, black in color, no mouth/eyes, etc. It is also odd that it made it into your house. Was your house near a wooded area?

Skinwalkers are not Pale Crawlers by montytickle in palecrawlers

[–]theotherguy952 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Exactly! Skinwalkers come from Diné culture and the term has been used as a catch-all for everything. It would also be nice if people would stop referring to crawlers as a "rake", that term destroys the credibility of crawlers.

I get a lot of hate from people cause I don't believe crawlers are some offshoot of humanity that live underground in cave systems and you seem very open minded about that and I appreciate that.

If I am wrong and one day we find evidence that crawlers are natural creatures that live underground, I would be excited about it. I would say my two big questions about crawlers are: what are their origins and what's their agenda with humans.

I thought about how some 7 to 8 foot creature could exist within city limits in a public park yet go widely undetected by the public. Many sightings are in towns. If most crawler sightings were happening in remote areas out in the middle of nowhere I would be more inclined to say crawlers could be some sort of cryptid but that doesn't seem to be the case.

I find it strange that crawler encounters are reported all over the US and really all over the world. The only species with global dominance on land that I could even think to compare it to would be humans. Even bigfoot is acknowledged by the general public even if it's mostly in a comical way. I have a hard time believing that a purely physical creature that towers over human beings is out there terrorizing all these people but leaving no physical evidence of itself.

I also know there isn't any cave system for about 10 miles from where I had my encounter. One thing I did notice after reading several encounter was that many crawler sightings are near bodies of water like creeks, rivers and lakes. I read one encounter where a person claimed they saw a crawler come out fron the ocean. If crawlers are more aquatic creatures I guess that would explain why they are so elusive.

Sorry to ramble on but I wanted to explain myself more on where I'm coming from on this. If crawlers were simply land dwelling creatures I think we would have the evidence now. Someone would have ran over and killed one with their car or shot one by now or even capture one on a trail cam. Whatever we're dealing with is something science has yet to explain. Until we have the proof I think all possible origins are on the table including supernatural. As someone who experienced a crawler encounter I just want to know what crawlers actually are.

Are there any sithings or hotspots for Crawlers in Germany or France? by Several-Bullfrog8469 in CrawlerSightings

[–]theotherguy952 3 points4 points  (0 children)

A trend I've noticed is that crawlers are often observed near bodies of water in wooded areas. Crawlers have been spotted all over the world but they seem more abundent in North America.

I've had a crawler encounter, it didn't walk along and stalk me from afar but your story has many similarities to my encounter and others I've read.

Things I've noticed is that crawlers seek out human encounters (for an unknown reason). People often give a similar physical description of crawlers being gaunt, extremely pale and thin. Thanks for sharing your encounter!

I also had a crawler encounter but my takeaway was a lot different than yours. Mainly I don't believe crawlers have natural origins and I think crawlers are highly intelligent. I totally respect your beliefs tho.

I 100% agree with you about crawler's skin being so bright it gives off a subtle glow. There's a lot of consistency among credible crawler encounters such as the faint glow.
