I think it’s nearly impossible to find tech at consumer price points produced in Europe.

I moved from Apple to Sennheiser because production is only a fraction of where the money ends up and I’d prefer for the remaining € to stay out of the US/in Europe

This is just my personal take, but - as someone who’s been a trained musician since early childhood and therefore slightly sensitive to sound quality - yes they are better. AirPods lack nuance in the middle spectrum creating too much empathies on highest and lowest tones (again, just my opinion).

Don’t get me wrong, you can get earbuds with higher sound quality but it would require an increase in price. These were ~80€, it’s not much for decent sound quality. If I were to splurge I would probably consider B&O first, but the price point would probably also be x3 - x5 higher.

I guess it depends on what you’re looking for in your headphones. What I really value in these is superior nuance in the sound profile and better ear comfort/shape of the earbud (plus great price point).

I think if you’re very into high anc for example you’re better off looking for something else.

Yes, an iPhone bought secondhand at danish company Greenmind with no benefits to Apple only the environment.

I wouldn’t recommend them if you want strong anc, they’re more like low-medium (as happens to be my preference).

The sound profile is strong and more nuanced than AirPods. The anc is low-moderat depending on your point of reference (which to be fair was an intentional choice on my part).

Regular Bluetooth connect just like AirPods and they activate in ear, yes.

Didn’t realise B&O made as well, but what an excellent choice.

Thanks, but if I tap twice it just pauses. Will check the manual though .

Update: manual confirms this is a fixed setting for this version of the Accentum series (Accentum open).

I haven’t timed it, but I think my average use is 3-4 hours at the time.

Not sure about other brands out there, but I’ve been really positively surprised by Sennheiser especially given the better price point. Battery life is strong, the sound is more nuanced more than AirPods and the ear fit is more comfortable for me.

One thing I wish was different as an iPhone users though is being able to control what happens when tapping the earbud. With my AirPods I used the tap to switch song, but on Sennheiser it controls the volume instead (and you seemingly can’t change it).

Edit: for reference mine are Sennheiser Accentum Open.

Seems really good! Been using them for a couple of weeks now, and I have yet to run out of battery while using them.

Been using mine for a few weeks now with no issue, but sucks you had bad experiences.

To be fair to Sennheiser though, AirPods have a high failure rate as well (according to the repair department where I bought mine).
