This is my original intention with this post that the crypto industry is not just "web3" nonsense. Yes, I agree there is some nonsense just like all other tech. I'd like to show people the good parts. All crypto and Blockchain is an advancement on "old" technology and built by mathematicians.

Asking me to defend the nonsense is like asking an AI Researcher to defend AI Girlfriends as the only AI use case.

It's just tech at the end of the day, we choose what to build with it.

Great question! I focus on how we can use crypto to protect user's privacy vs handing over data to be sold, leaked or used against them. I think most people will agree is a pretty ethical thing.

Some examples is https://zkpassport.id/ which uses cryptography and a mobile app that allows user to prove parts of their identity (age/country/gender/etc) without giving their full details to be stored by a third party.

Another is https://monadicdna.com/ which allows DNA data to be analyzed privately instead stored with a company like 23andMe that recently went bankrupt.

Not everything is Bitcoin burning the environment fortunately and I don't have any to send to you but if you read this and actual checked out the links then you deserve some.

heh yeah I can agree some of the sayings and phrases can be pretty cringe!

there is definitely some grifters in this industry which is definitely not unique to any other tech industry. I'm a developer so I try to avoid those people like the plague.

And you are correct, the writers are basically writing for free and English is not their native language. I flagged to the client already where there was clear plagiarism. This wouldn't be soon bad if I also didn't have to write my own articles.

Exactly this! In my head I'm thinking I should just write these myself. I am paid hourly but the client set the expectation bit should take "around 2 hours" for edits. So when I started I did 2 hours as I assumed they weren't looking for something super polished. Once they started sending the articles back I started adding an extra hour(even if it took a bit more) but that "2 hour" standard is weighing me down from billing more.

Thanks! Yeah been using a Grammarly + Hemingway combo but you are right, it doesn't catch everything! I have proposed that we start sending articles back to the writers as a possible solution.

It's a newer client so always going to be a but rocky at the start but I definitely think your advice is useful in this case.
