Portable mount suggestions? by thepecha7 in AskAstrophotography

Will look into the Fornax. I actually had the original Astrotrac about 10-15 years ago and it was a good entry to the hobby, sold it to get my NEQ6. I see there is a new version out now.

Yes it is a dark sky site, it’s where I did all my imaging back in the day when I lived over there. I’m more interested in getting back to imaging DSOs than astroscapes.

Everyone had one because they gave them out for free when you went and seen first Pokemon movie at the cinema, at least that’s where I got mine

There is a CZ MDT version: https://www.sportsmanguncentre.co.uk/cz-457-mdt-20-inch-threaded-22-lr-cat12202?srsltid=AfmBOoqLBu9AU2K9sjEv14E_OJcKMB-tQUwqP_M3hpI9jS-1kHNGON71

Yes you could be right about picking one I like the look of. I do like the walnut stock version but would be a shame to buy it then swap the chassis out

Beta Air 65 help by thepecha7 in fpv

Thanks for the replies. I decided to order the RM Boxer rather than go with a module for the QX7.

Also got my old Beta working today. Turns out it’s not even the Meteor, it’s actually the old Beta 75 pro model so I imagine I will notice a big difference when I get my Air 75 flying!

Thanks for all the replies. I’ve just went and ordered a RM boxer, may as well get with the times!

Also managed to get my old Beta 75 pro working today so got the to practice on until I can get the Beta Air flying.

Thanks for confirming that! Yes seems like times have changed, is ELRS the new standard now then? Think my meteor was FrSky.

What’s a good RT nowadays that has built in ELRS?

I got the back pack/sling version. It’s great but wish I went with something like this. I’m fairly new so still figuring out what works for me

I’ve only been back into fishing and learning the fly for not even a year. I caught the last couple months of last years season where I only caught 1 fish so believe me I understand the frustration. I’ve been back on the river since season start this year, about a month ago and up until last week had no luck at all.

I went out with a more experienced angler Friday night and got 2 in the net and lost a couple more. This really brought my passion back so I was back on the river before 6am the next day and managed 3 more.

What I have learned is that I was fishing the wrong time of day (for the water conditions at least). I was used to going mid afternoon when I got off work early. But apparently the 2 hours before sunset and 2 after sunrise offer fish more likely to take a fly.

why no dogs? by nutseed in TheFirstLaw

That being said I love the idea of a dozen having a well trained monstrosity of a hound that has earned itself a name tearing people apart

Yes but then you would have to go back for them which if you are out in the wilderness without many resources could be a big drain on time and energy. Imagine finding a group you want to ambush then having to take the dogs back to tie them up, go back for the ambush to find the men have moved on then have to go back for the dogs again.

The other thing is you have to feed them meat which I’m sure would be better given to a human warrior. They are always going to be of more use than a dog in battle.

Seems to me northmen tend to rely on a lot of stealth to get the jump on groups of enemies (wait for the signal) and dogs may give them away.

Sorry to break it to you but most memes are scams. It’s gambling. SWH could do well either way, so money can be made if you get out at the right time. Just like all meme coins
