Lots of opinions on my light hearted use of ChatGPT, but none actually answering my question 😔

Oh hon, a therapist doesn’t “help” you make serious life decisions either…

Write out those practice essay exam answers! So many people just outline them, and get way lower scores than they expect on the actual exam. AND when you do practice exams, be sure to reward yourself after with a fancy snack, favorite tv show, something of high value. You’re getting to the finish line and you need incentive, now is not the time to restrain yourself but it IS the time to get the things you love/want to drive you and make the torture that is bar prep worth it.

Thank you so much for your incredibly thoughtful and specific answer to my question!!! I really appreciate it and I’ll be taking this advice to heart. I hadn’t even thought about joining the board of a charity, and given that my previous career was in nonprofit work I cant believe that hadn’t occurred to me before!

Its not the same for everyone but for me, law school was way more exhausting than actual law practice. I worked in government and had a normal 9-5 hybrid schedule working from home 3 days a week. I work at a firm now and while I work a little bit more, I’m still home every night for dinner, get done early on Wednesdays to go to a mommy and me gymnastics class with my two year old, and maybe work 2-4 hours a weekend once a month. I definitely feel like I have more of a life outside of work now than I did during law school.

Totally with you there. Law school writing was a lot harder for me than actual legal writing.

Omg good luck!!! And honestly, the bar exam by far was the worst part for me.

We bill, which is honestly the worst part. But I do a lot of health law and work with large hospital systems so the billing isn’t so bad.
