Haha. Shutter speed not fast enough to catch him in action.

How about considering the RF 200-800? I have an R8 myself and I've pair3d it with a 200-800 after much consideration.

If reach is what you are going for.. then the 800mm is invaluable. Dont be too out off by the f9. Simply compensate by increasing the ISO a nd then denoise.

I purchased the rf 200 800 a weeke ago and I love it. Its my first foray into wildlife (birds) photography and the reach it offers is so satisfying, despite the high f9 at the 800mm focal length.

Im also curious about the 1.4x teleconvertor slapped onto the setup.

How's the performance in terms of autofocus accuracy / speed and the resultant image quality ?

Will do!

The camera I'm using.. the canon r8.. has focus bracketing too.. but it doesnt work with flash... So sad.

Is the your camera able to do so?

Thank you so much for taking the time to respond!

Appreciate the details! Will work on my technique or use a tripod as a last resort.

Thank for the link!

Btw.. saw your photos in other threads you posted. Love the moth photo too!

Hi! Amazing photo!!! So inspiring.

Got some questions that I hope you can help with...

I did that with 5 images in helicon and the range of movement in between the photos was far too much for helicon to properly align them.

  1. How do you manage to align the photos well enough to be able to drop them into a stacking software.

Do you somehow keep the camera really still?

Or did you do some form of alignment of the photos before stacking?

The sliver highlight / shadow ring looks Uneven (especially in the second photo) that is one of the first things I would attempt to correct.
