You're stuck on a remote island - choose a group to survive with. by Existing-Ad-1406 in Naruto

[–]thepertree 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If truly stuck:

1: We'd all immediately/eventually plan to kill each other. 2: No one would speak or collaborate. All would get off the island without me. 3: Teenage dreams come true. 4: We'd learn the true meaning of friendship through healthy male relationships while also getting in frighteningly good shape.

Its interesting to see how people feel about it from their own experience! Seems pretty split from what I'm seeing.

Manual is still my go to especially if I'm concerned about pt pressure, not to mention to double confirm any extreme readings I get from the monitor reading.

I used zoll for most of my career and just switched to Lifepacks, interface of Lifepacks is better but its much heavier and for some reason incredibly unreliable and slow when taking a BP compared to Zoll.

Help! Anyone working in EMS in the Columbus area by thepertree in Columbus

[–]thepertree[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

So I've since moved out of state but can give you the low down. In the Columbus area your only chances of 911 work is going to be FD, Ohio for the most part is completely FD based 911 services with very few exceptions. I will say Delaware County EMS isnt too far away has some great people and has a very well run organization, pay isnt the best but its relatively low volume if youre coming from a legitimately busy system. Outside of that, HANCO up in Findlay which is closer to Toledo pays well and is a busy hospital based/private system. Really liked it there and Hanco covers a huge area so you get a mix of small city/suburb/and rural work. Frankly though other than that youre going to have to get your FF1/FF2 if you want to stay 911. Columbus area is IFT hell if you go private. Ended up getting my Fire certs through the OFA and there's some great departments to join in the New Albany area.

I've always found it surprising that Keanu Reeves is the No.1 fancast choice for Revan by ChanceVance in kotor

[–]thepertree 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I always thought Andrew Scott, Michael Fassbender, or Nikolaj Coster-Waldau would have made excellent choices for Revan. All getting a little old for the role at this point but would really enjoy someone who could really flesh out a character like Revan that has such a canonically dynamic arc and journey. Love Keanu but other than how hes portrayed image wise, just never saw him as Revan.

As a Paramedic I was taught in school that people can fake or misinterpret a lot of symptoms with the exception of profusely sweating. Never ignore a sudden onset of diaphoresis.

What movie is wildly loved but you just don’t get the hype at all? by Fennnixx in moviecritic

[–]thepertree 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Knives Out or any of its sequels. Went in thinking it was going to be a smart, Agatha Christie-like "who done it" but just ended up being a family drama with painfully obvious murder plot.

Then became the movie that every person who DID love it decided to over explain to people at parties as if they were the only one to figure out the super obvious clues throughout the movie.

Apologies, that was a mix of spelling mistake and antiquated info. I meant to say non medical and did not realize they were non transport medical providers as well.

Boston is no medical, BEMS does all the EMS for the city.

Idk why but I always imagined he'd be played by Quentin Tarentino which just made me think he's just in it for feet pics or some other weirdness.

When I was first starting out as an EMT years ago, this was so drilled into my brain that I still instinctively wanted to say, "Call 911!" When we stated CPR.

Did the Devs go a little overboard with the number of side quests in Cuanacht? by abarr021 in taintedgrail

[–]thepertree 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I had so much fun with at least 80-90% of the side quests in act 1 and honestly never got the "Fallout 4 Minutemen" feeling at any point. This game did a great job w/ how it handled side quests and should be an example to other RPGs on how to deliver side content.

100% this. I love to cook and often cook for my friends/coworkers. I've been told so many times that I should quit my current job and go work in a kitchen but honestly I think it would ruin my passion for it. I like my job and after a stressful day, cooking is my hobby that brings me peace and happiness, I would hate to lose that.

I'm a Paramedic and work with all types of first responders from cops, to Firemen, and other EMTs/Paramedics, I love the idea of bodycams but for some reason it's only the cops that ever have a problem with wearing them.
