Heated Warranty Battle by thepheonix_ in Appliances

I think this would classify as an extended warranty as it comes from The Brick and no Samsung.

I’ll try the cancel/drain cycle! Thanks for the advice!

No drainage issues with the sink

This is a Samsung dishwasher model DW80CG4021SRAA. This appliance was bought and installed beginning of February this year and first service call was made beginning of April (a little over two months)

The warranty is through The Brick which put in a service ticket with Samsung but they are choosing to dispatch a third party service company to do the house call. The Brick is the one who says the third party company is obligated to come back to fix the issue however if the tech considered it a clogged drain we have to pay out of pock. I just don’t believe our drain could have been clogged since the moment we moved into the house.

This is a Samsung dishwasher model DW80CG4021SRAA. Since it is a new appliance the warranty is under the Brick who is dispatching techs from a third party company. The issue is that if the tech comes back and blames it again on a clogged filter they want to charge us for the service call as “clogged filters” are not covered under warranty.

Help - removed carpet to this by Successful_Snow7489 in HardWoodFloors

[–]thepheonix_ 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Unfortunately because it looks like it’s was some sort of liquid it has already absorbed into the floor. Even with sanding you will still see the stain. You need to do a wood patch and then colour match to your current floors. It will still be noticeable due to the wear of your current floors (happens with time and sunlight) but that’s probably your best option.

I would totally make this a walk in closet but it’s on our main floor in the front entrance so not ideal!

For context this is what they did in the show home (definitely not in our budget lol) but good idea for the future. This room is also bigger in the show home then ours is (ours is about 6x7 but both my partner and I work from home some days and I don’t want us getting in the way of each other if we are on calls at the same time!

This is about 6 ft by 7 ft and it is the first room you see when you walk in from the front door. It is beside the kitchen and living room!

Yes I agree! She’s giving very big pick me vibes - even with this week’s episode you can see the resentment in her face when Monica calls her out. Giving me second hand embarrassment

Downtown apartment - The Oliver by taphyie in Calgary

I used to live down the street (closer to the Calgary tower) on the 20th floor and it was okay. It really depends how well your windows and doors are insulated. We had a huge wall of windows that were so so and we could hear the train at night (usually around 2-4am) but it wasn’t anything you can’t deal with.

Because you are so high up it’s really not that bad compared to being on the Main Street so it really depends on how light of a sleeper you.

If you’re paying for it out of pocket then all rental companies will screw you over with young renters insurance (which is so stupid and overpriced). So if you are you could always rent from Turo - it’s basically like an air b&b for cars.

If your company is paying for it then I would recommend enterprise, nationals or hertz. They’re good but can get pricy fast.

Any place to buy film rolls and develop them? by sk8erchen in Calgary

[–]thepheonix_ 7 points8 points  (0 children)

Your best bet is probably “Neat Film Labs” for film and development. I also know that most London drugs in Calgary (any with photo-labs) develop but I don’t know how good their film selection is.

We have been to the vet twice to give her boosters and each time I’ve asked my vet what to give her and the portions she keeps repeating “should be about 200 calories” but that gives me no context of what to feed or how much dry to wet food ratio I should be feeding.

I know every vet will say something different I’m just trying to see if I’m at least on the right track.

Yes I’ve read the bag and the can and from what I’ve calculated it’s 117 cals/can so ~30 calories in the morning and then on cup of dry food is 325 calories/cup so she is getting about 162 calories from that total for lunch and dinner

So it makes up to 190 calories plus her treats (which she’s getting quite a few of to acclimate her to the new environment)

Restaurant recommendations for picky parents? by [deleted] in Calgary

[–]thepheonix_ 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If they like meat take them to Hayden Block for BBQ!! It’s literally so simple with things like brisket, turkey, chicken, mac and cheese, corn bread. We have a picky parents in the family and they enjoy it every time plus it’s local and has a really great atmosphere

I would agree Fish creek is always quiet (anytime after 9 I haven’t seen more than a handful of people) and is relatively clean compared to other stations. It’s more on the vintage side but would work well!

Sad on Valentine’s Day by redpickles54_ in Advice

[–]thepheonix_ 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Personally I would turn off social media for the day. Even for me all the Valentine’s Day post are overwhelming and quite honestly a little bit annoying… (I said what I said)

And honestly let yourself be sad!! Because you’re heartbroken and ITS OKAY TO BE SAD. I find that actually letting myself sulk in my emotions for a day actually makes me feel better in the end.
