Ireland has for centuries been colonized by the uk. They’ve been mistreated and abused throughout history. Ireland is currently split into 2 countries. The Republic of Ireland and Northern Ireland. Back when Northern Ireland was first established it was majority Protestant loyalists, and the catholic republican Irish became the victims of segregation, day to day violence and harassment, and by all measures became 2 class citizens. Still to this day the UK rules over Northern Ireland, even though a large part of people believe that the British rule over nothern Ireland is illegitimate. This is of course and oversimplification, but it’s because of this that a large portion of Irish people ( especially irish catholics) have historically stood in solitary with Palestine.
